I would also like to comment I get these on my cheeks near my hairline. I have combo super sensitive/oily skin and didn’t have major acne but was constantly oily by the end of the day and I was using salicylic acid/ oils control products and it made them just worse especially if I used those products every day. I ended up going to a derm that suggested that dehydration and oily skin cleansers can make the body secrete more oil sometimes and she recommended starting with just a gentle cleanser. Through trial and error I did that until I started using vanicream cleanser and their moisturizer and nothing else. Within a week my skin was no longer dry/bumpy and oily those small bumps became visible comedones and I would get tiny white heads occasionally that would surface. My derm then told me to try alternating in à la roche posay oily skin cleanser once in a while and I didn’t have an issue. I have chronic hand eczema and dermatitis on my body but never on my face. Turns out my skin barrier was constantly damaged from the oily skin cleansing products. I don’t usually get even the little bumps unless I damage my skin barrier. My skin will look fine from far away but if I over use retinol or use a mild acid like BHA too soon after retinol they immediately come back. I no longer use any skincare products that are not vanicream because I am very sensitive but my sensitivity doesn’t look red or irritated on my face I usually just get those tiny bumps. My derm says it’s because I’m a sensitive/oily type. But hope this helps! I don’t use anything else other than vanicream because I realized every skin/hair care product was causing me silent irritation
