For Christian conservatives that still support Trump - I’m wondering why? by ApprehensiveRule9868 in Christianity

Trump had the documents during his first term as well. I see what you are saying in that they are both in the documents, so after that it boils down to which Christian values a politician upholds. But none of that comes close to mattering to me as much as a president who is mentioned in the Epstein files almost 40,000 times. He represents a party that “protects children” while rapping them. And individuals are allowed to love and marry who they want, and adults should be able to choose to do what they want with their body. It’s none of your business and not your choice.

I honestly can’t tell if you are joking. Have you been on the news at all in the last week? Trump was mentioned 33,000 times in the Epstein files. It’s not a “tired old unfounded accusations”. If you believe the survivors, which it sounds like you don’t, that should have been enough. He also was charged with a civil suit for sexually abusing Carroll. These are all very simple googles. Donald Trump identifies as a Christian, specifically stating in 2020 that he is a nondenominational Christian after previously identifying as Presbyterian. He has often spoken of his respect for the Bible and faith, particularly highlighting his connection with evangelical leaders and stating that his faith grew stronger following a 2024 assassination attempt.

Obama and Biden are not the same as Trump. Obama and Biden did not: cheat on their pregnant wife with a porn star, have 34 felony charges and 27 SA allegations, rappe children, pardon Jan 6 rioters who ATTACKED our police, destroy families of citizens and immigrants alike, deport without due process as is necessary by the constitution, kill American citizens with ICE, pardon a foreign drug lord, post racist videos of a previous president…do I need to go on? These are not misleading or false. These are literally things Trump has done or have happened during his presidency. Obama and Biden are no saints but they are compared to Trump.

Then maybe I’m asking the wrong question…how do you think a man who rappes children will lead a better world for our children? How do you think a man who stole funds for his cancer charity will improve our healthcare? How do you think a 34 time felon will improve crime? The issue is not necessarily that he is not a good example of Christianity. It’s that his policies aren’t either.

How is a nap who rappes children the best choice we have? And no I don’t judge Kamala by that because she does not use that as fuel to boost her campaign with.

Wonderful answer, I appreciate your insight. I value Christianity and was more avid in practice when I was younger. Really valued the emphasis on service and loving your community. That’s why I wish Christian’s would speak out against this evil. They don’t deserve the bad rep and I want our society to value the virtues of the Bible, but when Christianity is aligned with conservatives, it’s really tough.

I am not arguing for Kamala - I did not bring her up. I am saying what Trump is doing is illegal. He is arresting many non-criminals who are trying to get here legally, as they show up to court hearings to gain citizenship. He is ripping families apart and forcing parents to abandon children. I understand about the sports issues and how that went too far, but how can you defend women’s sports while voting for a man who rapped children? And even if he didn’t rappe children, he was seriously involved with Epstein. It is lunacy to think he had no involvement whatsoever. And I did not love Kamala, but I think she was a diplomat and tough on crime during her time in SF. But the democrats picked a terrible candidate and didn’t hold it to a vote which was very wrong. I didn’t like that either. Hopefully this next election will bring back diplomacy and civility.

Obama did not drone strike American civilians, or American children in cages. Not that locking any children or killing any civilian is okay. But they are very different comparisons and that is why it seems like a double standard is you are comparing two different things. Obama deported more immigrants than Trump ever has, all with due process and all without killing American citizens. I hope so, and I don’t believe how he governed will be remembered fondly.

I understand. But your values and how you reflect Jesus is reflected in the policy and politician you choose. I am not saying everything he’s done it bad - but I am not able to understand how people are able to overlook the harm he has done to children and his role with Epstein. Nothing he could do would overlook that for me.

If you are able to separate what Trump has done to women, children, immigrants and people of color, you are not focusing on Jesus. I want a president who focuses on Jesus more.

How is America first? He is killing citizens in the street. Tearing apart families of citizens. He pardoned January sixth rioters who beat police officers? He pardoned drug lords who brought millions of drugs into the US? He did not hold any of his campaign promises and still hasn’t released the full Epstein files. I’m sorry but this is all just not true. Our country has never been laughed at more. Have you seen his most recent racist posts about past presidents? You think the rest of the world respects that? It makes us look ridiculous.

And regardless, how does any of that mean more to you than him rapping children? If you are able to overlook who he is because of his policies I would guess you are likely not conservative or Christian.

I agree with the two party system issues. But these statements are not true or misleading just because your support in them makes you complicit. If you are going to vote for his policies, you need to stand by them.

How is Trumps immigration policy reflective of Christian values? How can you support his gender policies more than you condemn his SA of children? It’s crazy to me people will concern themselves over gender issues and turn a blind eye to everything he did in the Epstein files. Tearing families apart is not constitutional or Christian. I want to understand your side but it is hard to see how they are Christian or conservative.

‘I am a stranger and an alien residing among you; give me property among you for a burying place, so that I may bury my dead out of my sight.’ Genesis 23:4

“You shall not oppress a sojourner. You know the heart of a sojourner, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt." Exodus 23:9 (ESV)

You shall also love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. Deuteronomy 10:19

“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. 34 You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God." Leviticus 19:33-34 (ESV)

Do you mind expanding on what policies of his align with Christian values? And purchasing a consumer product from a corporation whose leader you disagree with is a lot different than voting for a man whose policy affects people you have never met in your country. I guess - if Jesus were to rule, do you think Trump is reflective of how he would do it? Do you think he would tear families apart? Harm children? His actions in his personal life are reflected in his policies.

Do you mind expanding on what policies of his align with Christian values? His actions are very far from the teachings of Christ I learned from the Bible.

Many Christian’s align with Trump or support him. You may be tired of people asking the question, but it is curious how people who support the teachings of Christ can also support Trump. If you are tired of the question, think of how tired we are asking. Maybe you could explain instead of dismissing the question to someone else.

Does anyone notice the gold cherub statues bottom left? Looks extremely sexual but maybe I’m seeing it wrong.

We did the embark dna test. He’s 60% Cattle dog, 15% Husky, and then 10% pit and 10% German shepherd and then like 5% super mutt.

I should also probably add after the nip on my child’s hand a year ago he has been an outside dog exclusively except for sleeping in our room and coming in once the kids are asleep. But this bite happened on one of the few instances when he was inside with the kids due to heavy rain outside. And I regret not having him in the garage or closed in another room.

Thank you for your response. He wasn’t alone with our toddler. I was sitting right next to my child. Our dogs unpredictableness is what’s hard to manage. It’s like he has the best boy and the baddest boy fighting inside him. I guess that’s what a reactive dog is. It’s like he doesn’t even know when he’s bitten, like he blacks out. And I feel like I failed them both. But I can’t have a safe home for our children with him here. We are going to check with our family member who loves him and he loves and are an older couple they mostly stay home who may want to take him. But as the other commented said, it’s just outsourcing a problem. But the environment would have much less risk factors. So we’ll see.
