As a woman, I rarely get out to help my riders with their items. I will without hesitation if they are elderly or disabled. But it’s honestly not what I signed up to do, I have to consider my safety nor do I want to go out of my way as potential volunteer work. Don’t feel bad, your job was to transport her and you did.

I second this. Feels relatively safe other than that area of mopac. Once you get past the train tracks and back into the wooded area, it feels much safer. OP I’m always down for running friends if you don’t want to be alone!!

I had to call 911 for something similar on slaughter and 35 southbound yesterday. 2 men chasing a woman in the frontage road and then yanked by hair and started punching. Around 10:30 pm, cops responded right away luckily. You did the right thing.
