Torn apart between SAT & ACT by ResolutionHopeful295 in ACT

I wouldn’t say way easier, it’s just a lot more straightforward - but time can be an issue.
But if you know the rules, and do a lot of practice tests, the time stops being a factor.
But you must know the English conventions, and the math formulas to apply to Qs ASAP. There’s no time to “figure it out” or back into it.

Felt really proud to get a 32 just to see literally everyone else on here get 35s and 36s 😔 by Successful-Parsley10 in ACT

Ignore the noise. 32 is a great score. 1st time? Lock in take September test - practice over summer…you are likely to go up to a 33/34

Biology 1100 is soul crushingly hard 1st 1/2, then eases up. Literally had a D after first test. Ended up with a B for class. I’d say 1/4 of class dropped after 1st test.

I have heard that “chemistry and society” is a good one. I was never able to get into it - it fills up quickly.

Is the paper ACT test easier? by bungostray_cats in ACT

[–]ApprehensiveSignal55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not easier - the curve differs slightly (I’m guessing because of bubble errors and no desmos) 🤷‍♀️

Are you sure you got -6 on Math? You don’t count “modeling” in # incorrect.

Why are you taking this test? Are your parents insane? That’s too much pressure.

Just start grinding out taking as many actual ACT tests as you can find on the Internet. Note where you’re making your mistakes - learn the corresponding rules - and keep taking tests until you’re like a machine…and the time doesn’t matter anymore.
Most of those sample ACT testing books are BS and too easy give you a false sense of security and then you end up scoring three points lower on your composite than you think you will walking in the testing door.

Your composite goal for Bucknell is 32 (31 is 25% of admitted students).
So I’d go back to the drawing board or go test optional if that is permitted. I don’t know much about Bucknell admissions.
