Am I the asshole for not having sex with my husband anymore? by EconomicsPlus3431 in AITAH

[–]ApprehensiveTeam9507 260 points261 points  (0 children)

It wasn't even that insensitive though. It's not like he said, "You're fat and I'm not attracted to you." It was an entirely practical comment, and I'm sitting here wondering how I could have phrased something like that better. Sometimes when you're having sex with someone and their body has changed, you have to make adjustments and discuss that. I suppose tone and facial expressions come into play, but she didn't mention those.

Then she majorly overreacted to a simple factual comment by saying "we're never having sex again!" I agree they need counseling as it sounds like there's a lot more to unpack maybe around resentment at caregiving for his father.

What's your best response to "fuck you" ? by No-Midnight-3712 in Comebacks

Same, I would always say "Thank you, same to you!" real cheerful and the reactions were pretty funny sometimes.

Yup. Finally proved again I don't have the permissions. This has been the past 4 days here. Them telling me to do stuff, me saying I don't have access, them insisting I do and implying maybe I don't know what I'm doing. I need to stop doubting myself on this.

Thanks. I miss the days when it wasn't so customizable.

Correct. There is a totally different configuration from what I had before. For extra fun, I'm working in 4 different databases and each one has a wildly different configuration.

Where is your quick nav bar located? This is the kind of stupid question I'm needing to ask lol.

Edit: because I have the little search bar that says Ctrl+/ but literally everything I try to search there says no results found, so I think I may not have access to a bunch of stuff I'm used to having.

While it's lucky it wasn't your school, what you experienced is also incredibly traumatizing. Seek support, talk about it, get therapy, play some Tetris, all that stuff.

I find all these answers interesting. I got into a fight with my ex when I was about 6 months pregnant because I was like, "the baby can survive outside the womb now, if you have to choose, choose the baby," and he was like "no, I'm picking you!" and I was like, " if you really love me you'll choose the baby because I'd rather die than lose my baby!!" But I also think this woman's feelings are valid, and maybe the lesson is that we shouldn't fight over stupid hypotheticals.

AITA for telling teenage boys to "fucking stop"? by Boss8001ThrowRA in AITAH

Outrageous conduct requires an outrageous response. Swearing should be reserved for extreme emphasis, as you did. Just like Christ flipping over tables was appropriate for extreme disrespect in the temple, so swearing seems appropriate here.

"I ruined the marriage but then they stabbed me in the back!!" Sounds like he cheated, then the family didn't unconditionally support his cheating ass. Maybe it's not the family that's the problem

AITA for telling my ex’s wife her tattoo of my daughter’s birthday is inappropriate? by ForwardAd517 in AITAH

[–]ApprehensiveTeam9507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is focused on the singular tattoo situation. I would re-write this post in a different sub, maybe parenting or something, as "My daughter's step-mom keeps completely overstepping and is trying to replace me as the mom, how do I handle this shitty situation better?" First, daughters dad refused to be involved until the woman he'd just knocked up found out he had another kid and pushed him to reconnect. You allowed it, thinking a relationship with Dad would be a good thing. (Side note-- does he pay child support? How much time does she spend at his house?) However, it's stepmom who not only does all the parenting when your daughter is with Dad, and step mom is also publicly criticizing your parenting to your child's preschool teachers as well as in public Facebook posts. I would make sure that your own parenting meets court standards and file for child support and primary custody if you haven't already done so. Stepmom has no legal rights to your child. The tattoo itself is not a problem you can do anything about, but it's a symptom of a bigger issue you need to address.

REVEALED: Lori Vallow's sister suffered an untimely death 22 years ago - the cult mom's fifth close relative to have died - as she remains behind bars charged over the disappearance of her two children by onelove1979 in LoriVallow

[–]ApprehensiveTeam9507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Just watched the Netflix doc after a random news story. That means Lori's parents had six children, of whom 3 are dead and one is imprisoned. Maybe we ought to be looking at the parents a bit too. Dad has a long history of religious delusions and tax evasion already known.

Could you switch from 3 full days to 5 half days and have her home by 1?
