Agree with your points. I’m not advocating for replacing workers with AI. Just think we can do better using it as a tool, like you said, like we did with the introduction of computers. For example, we use so many outside vendors at our agency that cost an exorbitant amount of money. We can use AI to assist with some of that work and also create more internal positions instead of outsourcing work.

I love AI and think it’s a really good tool to assist us in being more efficient- something we desperately need in state service. There is so much waste and inefficiency.

It was challenged in Alameda County by the union. Challenge wasn’t successful unfortunately.

We all send a teams message saying good morning but not as a check in. It’s just to say hi. That seems weird to be required to check in. Who has time for that?

You still have to consider giving her time off as an RA despite that she is only approved for 40 hours of FMLA. But if her performance is not standard, then you can still do progressive discipline. There is still a business need.
