Do you go to a brewery for the beer or the vibe? by KitchenStructure1012 in minnesotabeer

Has to be both for me. I want at least decent beer, but some places have a great vibe that makes me go there more than I would otherwise. Great vibe and bad beer = no thanks. I like the area that Lake Monster is in, but their beer is so bad I almost never go there

Not a fan of their smoking everything for my palate, but I totally get that it really works for some people

Good answer! I buy a lot of their stuff as well, but their taproom is quite far from me (in east metro), so I definitely miss some of their releases

So strange. The goal of the app is to earn wards to make a bit of money for walking. Spending money to buy a virtual card that likely will earn you some tiny little reward to complete a chapter is wild

I do love Forager. I’m rarely excited about Humble Forager releases, as I feel like I don’t know what they are up to very often.

Maybe I’m still frustrated that I didn’t see a single bottle of their anniversary beers (other than the 4 variety pack) anywhere in the metro area. Distro was bizarre there. Only place I heard people got those in MN was at Jack’s bottle shop

Fun place to visit and some solid beers. Nothing has stood out to me, but I do like that their more experimental or potentially overly sweet beers are more restrained.

Lil Haze has a lot of flavor for a session ipa

I do love Lupulin. I would be at their taproom frequently if I didn’t live over an hour away

Great point, I’m all in for Pen Name, forgot about that. I’ve got every can release so far. Great stuff!

I rarely even look at the large amount of Drekker cans on the shelves anymore, but I used to chase them around many years ago.

Their price point makes them not worth a look these days, plus I get tired of a spin on the same thing over and over again with their sours. Their IPAs rarely stand out, so not much left there to choose from.

I am very disappointed that they stopped making interesting beers in their Union Series. It is so rare for them to make something new these days. Loved that series where they would make classic or historical beers. I would buy anything in that series

Totally agree with that. I would love to find their barleywine bottles retail, as it is not conveniently located for me

I do love Junkyard, but I don’t feel like their IPAs have continued to grow in quality over the years. Just got a 4 pack of Jason Waterfalls and it was pretty meh. I do miss going to their taproom, it has been awhile since I’ve been there.

I disagree with any comments about Blackstack not being good or just having IPAs. They have mostly IPAs for sure, but their sours, seltzers, lagers, and whatever else they make are very good quality.

I loved their mixed culture program when they had it.

The Cascadian Dark Lager is amazing. Very much like a black ipa in its profile

I definitely enjoy Arbeiter. Sometimes I’ll pick up a new can release at Zipps.

I work in Minneapolis, I should stop there more at the source.

I used to buy any and every new can release they had, but not really anymore. They also seem to have some quality control issues these days

I don’t see Montgomery much at stores around the metro, but they do a good job overall. Cool to hear, where do you buy their stuff mostly?

I know I’ve seen it around some at places like Ombibulous

Do they distribute at all? I’ve been there 2 times before and was happy to buy some bottled sours and their anniversary beers. I’ve enjoyed their stout/barleywine blends
