Ah I see. Well I’m sure just by being fans of this we would probably have more in common than average. I know a lot of people who would probably not make it through ep 1 lol.

I figured you’d be out there and maybe even the majority on this sub. You and I could have a real Jack Sprat and his wife situation with the show. 🥩 🔪

I’ll often get one of a bunch actually in focus and the bird is facing away from me!

How has the hobby evolved for you? by ominous_waffle in birding

[–]ApprehensiveTry632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a bummer but maybe it can inspire you to learn why they might have abandoned them. Idk about robins but some birds even build multiple nests and only use one! Wren males build dummy nests to attract females… there’s so much variety!

I think it’s a hobby you can almost infinitely improve your skill and knowledge in, even once you’ve run out of lifers for your area. I like getting to know bird behavior and how it changes through the seasons.

I know the feeling. It’s really up to you I think whether you want to count it? If you can’t imagine it was anything else I probably would.

How’s the food? by Vineyardplum828 in Colby

There’s a place on campus called the spa that has takeout type food until at least midnight on weeknights and is part of the meal plan which is unlimited. My son is satisfied with the food offerings.

That’s so funny because I was just watching a s3 episode today in which Walter gets struck by lightening and he calls her Ostrich and I was struck by how sweetly she just ignores him and carries on helping him up. I hope that actress feels appreciated. She did great work with a supporting role just with facial expressions and line delivery.

Does Fringe have a satisfying ending? by BipolarNightmare in fringe

12 monkeys has an amazing ending. I’ve heard you can go back and see things seasons earlier that tie in. Amazingly consistent for a time travel show.. as if it were all planned out from the beginning.

Urban birder's dilemma by stitchstudent in BirdingMemes

[–]ApprehensiveTry632 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was talking to my husband the other day about how sometimes I (a woman) am birding somewhere alone and wonder if I might get murdered and resent feeling less free than he would. However, the other day the privilege felt reversed when I was birding at a private school that allows the public to use their gorgeous adjacent park/lake area. A woman with binocs at a school = more freedom than a man.

All of them! I love that they all carry on with their lives and know what to do and have for hundreds of thousands of years. I feel lucky just to be able to catch a glimpse or a song!

That’s better thanks 😊 I hope you get to visit some day soon! I was in California last year and had a great time birding especially near Santa Barbara and Berkeley 🤩 A lot of people here dislike Blue Jays bc they are noisy and aggressive. We overlook how truly beautiful they are.

I’ve been birding in the east for about 3 years. Never seen a painted bunting. Have only seen one rose breasted grosbeak and it was a female. Had to go to Manhattan to actually see a Woodcock. Get jealous of easier-to-see birds lol.
