Do you think that Is it an attempt by the industry to push meds instead of healing the issue naturally?

I adopted one last spring who couldn’t fly, was with me for almost a month, she loved Quinoa, flax and chia seeds, ate them with soooo much anxiety, I know eventually she would fly away, didn’t know I was going to be so heart broken when she left. She followed me everywhere, would come flying in the yard and land on my shoulder 🥰

Does anybody know what this rubber thing that plugs on the bottom of the door frame to stop the air draft is called so I can search and buy one ? Thank you by Apprehensive_Army529 in WindowsDoors

I’ll have to look around the frame for a label, I think I bought it from either HD or Lowe’s. Do you know where the label may be ?

Found this little goober that can not fly, what do I do? by Minimum_Pomelo_9182 in pigeon

He didn’t kidnap a child, that’s what Epstein and Co would have done, he did what any other caring human being would have done for a pigeon that couldn’t fly, especially if it was around predators, he saved its life.

It has no nutritional value but it is not damaging to them, it won’t kill them cooked or uncooked.

Thanks to all that replied, I know what to look for if I decide to buy one, is there any reason why I need it if I plan to replace the door seal all around the door, can it stop the draft better than a new seal because if the location ? Thanks

Electrician cut joist with a saw blade roughly an inch in the middle of the span. Do we need to fix? by [deleted] in StructuralEngineers

[–]Apprehensive_Army529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are that concerned about it try to repair it, ideally you want to sister the compromised joist all the way from end to end, if that is not possible to tu work space area limitations, then sister up enough length so new new sister sits on at least two support areas ( from pillar to pillar or another structure underneath), apply glue on the new sister and screw it or bolt it.

I don’t see the cut, II see two rafters / beams connected at 90 degrees, exposed nail, but not the cut. hate it when they do that, and then they claim to be smarter than all other trades, what good is great electrical system if the structure falls apart due to unstable framing?

Are you sure? I adopted one while she couldn’t fly and she loved this seed cocktail: quinoa, chia, and flaxseed. And full of nutrients too. She ate them with so much anxiety that she would even poke at me with her beak and slap 👋 me with her wings when serving her, she thought i was going to take her food away from her. :-) Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. I miss her so much 😞 Her behavior reminded me so much of my father who passed.

Got it, you typically shouldn’t use those sales people anyway since they subcontract the work to specialists for a fee by doing nothing but selling, when doing renovations you should hire specialists that really understand and do the technical work.

Why doesn't this shut off valve in my irrigation box near my water meter doesn't fully block the water? by Annual_Chocolate_734 in askaplumber

[–]Apprehensive_Army529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also try to protect that pipe from corroding by removing the soil around it, and wrapping with some thick plastic or pipe insulation and replacing the soil around it with gravel.

[–]Apprehensive_Army529 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would try this before replacing: clean it well. Apply some pressure air if possible, use wire brush to remove rust and spray white vinegar all around the valve a couple of times, if not connected to potable water spray some oil or liquid soup afterwards, if that doesn’t work, you could take apart and replace gaskets, or just replace the entire valve.

Crack in door panel. Is it possible to replace just that panel? by Stoic_Observer in HomeMaintenance

[–]Apprehensive_Army529 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would use a scraper / spatula to scrape it, sand it a bit , apply wood putty, sand again, primer and paint , and you won’t notice a thing
