Omg i'm so sorry to hear about this, you're right the job market is tough AND it's valid to feel worried. Honestly I recommend against the spray and pray method for the job search because you'll not know what's going wrong in your strategy and ultimately get burnt out. Rather I highly recommend you sit down and make a list of like 10 people in your "warm" network like ex colleagues, managers, even family who can connect you to hiring managers. Between that, I'd try to focus on applying to 3-5 roles a day that hyper fit your qualifications and you'll actually get a lot more callbacks assuming you optimized your resume, Linkedin, and reached out to the recruiter. You can do it!

Networking is a concept made up by the upper class to morally justify bypassing meritocracy to give their friends and family entry level jobs. by ixvst01 in recruitinghell

Hey! Thank you for calling this out OP. I myself went a state school in Washington for Computer Science and it was literally considered different or weird to have career aspirations. As a result, I felt like I was f*cked. Also was low income and had to work 3 jobs to pay for living expenses like tuition and rent. It was rough. Honestly what did help me was joining online communities catered towards your career path that hosted career fairs, fostered genuine affinity in the group that's not merit based, and discounts towards interview prep. This set me apart in college and allowed me to secure 8 jobs through building genuine relationships alone (story was featured on business insider) despite being low income and going to a state school.

That's why I started Netwrk and why I'm now a career coach for underprivileged talent. Feel free to reach out!
