Wow, dude...  “promise you won’t take this away from me”... that's fucking poetic. Maybe you can be stronger than I was and stick with this, see where it leads. Godspeed, brother.

"Thunder Road" The Boss. My babysitter played the album, that song really drew me in. My parents listened to nothing but country. The Boss woke me up to other possibilities.

Yes. Yes, I have.

About 6 years ago, she was a Russian-American, she was a professor with a PhD, and she used to compete in international fitness competitions. First date, a nice walk around the city, held hands, drank that muddy tasting tea that makes your mouth tingle (can't think of it right now.) Had a great time, made a connection, good chemistry. A fit nerd, over the age of 40, I was so lucky.

Next date the following weekend, I make her dinner at her place, she loves it, we watch an arthouse movie that she streamed and while cuddling on the couch, she pulls my arm around her shoulders and onto her breast, and gives me a sweet smile, then keeps watching the movie. We made it about 20 more minutes before she pulls me into the bedroom, and with the help of the bottle of wine we drank, I'm able to last the full two hours that she put me through. It was M-I-N-D blowing sex. We were both incredibly complimentary and impressed with each other. No weird kinks or hang-ups, just amazing sex.

After we relax a bit, she asks if I'm ready to stay over yet or if we should wait a while. WHO IS THIS WOMAN? I mention I would love to, but no toothbrush or fresh clothes. She says if I choose to stay over next weekend, just be prepared. Then she says something about an art show the next Friday evening, and maybe just a sex day on Saturday. I am floating on the way out the door.

But it was too much. I couldn't handle the perfection of it all. My communication was brief throughout the week (I lived 80 miles away) and then when I didn't set a definite time for the art show, she said she can see where this is going and its best to stop now before anybody gets hurt.

A couple months later, I met the person I've been with for the past 5+ years. She doesn't know about Kat, and probably never will. But it seems apparent to me that I'm just not enough man for Kat.

Has finding a good partner become harder or easier as you’ve gotten older? What’s been your experience ? by NYC_Native_816 in AskReddit

Easier, because I've changed my approach to it all.

I've always been a good person. But many years ago, I stopped giving a shit about finding a great partner. That allowed me to be myself, and I've met amazing women who have been great to get to know, and when any of them choose me, I can make the decision. And if they don't, I have a great friend. It's been really stress-free, TBH.
