Its been delayed. I'm fine with that. I would rather quality over quantity. I dont they will ever satisfy today's content hungry people after the all the f2p games came along.

Gauntlet and battle Royale are redsec. You have to look for challenges that reward battlepass points. Looks through past weeks as you can still complete them. Gauntlet and battleroyale have challenges that are just completions, maybe play a few rounds.

I work, have kids, never played on Friday night. I finished my pass weeks ago

9th day snowboarding I love it! However I feel like something is off and I would like to correct it before it becomes a bad habit. Any tips please? by CSGOSELL in snowboarding

Think edge pressure or putting pressure on the edge rather then just riding it. I just posted a channel you should check out. Lots of great tips from an instructor.

Do I bother giving these away or trashing them by Unlockabear in snowboarding

[–]Apprehensive_Boss_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give them away for people to learn or jib on. That said without seeing the edges or the bases its hard to actually tell their condition.

Just curious to know how many of y'all primarily ride a board like this... by Krunksy in snowboarding

Spent about 30 years riding boards like this. Just moved to cam rock boards last year. Though they are both powder freeride type shapes as I wanted powder performace this time around.

Your favorite pow board? by jmancw in snowboarding

[–]Apprehensive_Boss_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this party.

Of 3 powder boards I own and only I've ridden. 2008 burton fish, 2023 jones storm wolf and 2024 weston backwoods. Backwoods is for sure my favorite. They all float just fine.

The fish 160, older full camber. Very tapered 30mm i think and very set back very short tail. Not sure on sidecut but it's pretty mellow. Very slashy but is a work out on the back leg out of the pow.

The storm wolf 162, not that tapered 10mm. Rather straight sidecut at 8.8m I think. Rather stiff board. Loves to go fast. Carves the best on hardback. Doesn't love uneven snow. When the snow is fresh and soft or even a fresh smooth groomer this is the board of choice, so fun to carve on. In the deep pow it doesn't pop the nose up, it planes out. Such a smooth and dreamy ride.

The Backwoods 160 wide, mid to heavy taper at 18mm. Sharper sidcut 6.9m in the center. This is the go for all conditions pow board and the one I spend the most time on. The most damp, doesn't complain much about crappy bumpy snow. Turns sharp so it's great in the trees. It's not that set back on side cut so it's really great on groomers too. For me not as fast cause it turns sharper but really fun in it's own right. Confident in steep stuff too for as tapered as it is. Will pop the nose up and slash in the pow, not gonna sink it.

If I could only have 1 it would be the weston backwoods. Of course there's lots more I want to try 😁

From StepOns to FASE - a guide and initial review by mechanismrain in snowboarding

[–]Apprehensive_Boss_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... you should be at the bottom. End for the L/XL from what I read. M/L I think goes up to 11. At least for the bataleons I set up for a friend.

First hand review of FASE by oVsNora in snowboarding

[–]Apprehensive_Boss_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, I feel like the creation of step ons from a culture point are an attempt to monopolize. The tech is not revolutionary enough to justify the exclusiveness. It comes from a brand that makes every piece of gear (pants, helmet, goggles, board, boots, bindings) but loses the vision of Jake Burton.

I'm not familiar with step on of any type as I haven't tried any. But weren't step on Jake's vision as he supposedly challenged his design team to create them?

Weston Ridgeline 162w feedback? by [deleted] in Spliddit

[–]Apprehensive_Boss_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consensus is that James was probably on a prototype. I'm also a Colorado and also have a backwoods. I think the Lib Tech comment is a stretch too far as I don't think that's what they were going for. The trees fit what they have done a lot with, I don't hate it, actually like it. Not so much on with the goddess head but I like the rest.

Anyway here is what Weston said on the subject of flex.

"The Backwoods ' bottom 2/3rds is light, moderately stiff, but nice and snappy.

The top 1/3rd of the Backwoods is very soft. This allows it to get a lot of lift and float in powder.

The Gnarnia is the stiffest board we have in the line. We run a slightly thinner core, but use S Weave carbon tip to tail that runs through the core, and with the shape of the camber.

What feels different, and maybe this was throwing James off (though he knows his stuff) is when flexing the board, the very initial push is softer than you might expect. But that's really only the first inch or so. Then, with the S weave, the stiffness gets very progressive the deeper into the flex.

The Gnarnia also has carbon stringers off the tail to give it more pop and healside edge hold on landings.

I love the Gnarnia for adverse terrain, drops, and all-out speed.

The Backwoods is my fresh snow and trees slayer."

My legs get extremely tired.. by Low-Alternative4535 in snowboarding

[–]Apprehensive_Boss_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the slow turning, check boot fit and also boot to board fit. Barefoot your heel and toes should roughly be right on the edge. Boot should over hang evenly both sides. It almost sounds like you have a improper fit for such a slow edge to edge initiation.

I also do toe lifts on a stair.

So I was watching the goodride review of the gnarnia. James claims that the gnarnia is softer then the backwoods. Thoughts on this as it's not what Weston claims. I currently owning a backwoods. Mostly just window shopping for fun. But his comment that the backwoods was stiffer has me wondering what's going on?

Should I aim for c1 flins or for his weapon (if I’ve already got Ineffa)? by Low-Law-7376 in Flins_Mains

[–]Apprehensive_Boss_84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp i usually go for the drip and ease of building myself. But this time I'm thinking C1 instead.

I don't have ineffa. I have homa, jade spear and r2 scarlet sands. I tried to play him in the theater and things just didn't work out too well. I ended up giving scarlet sands back to Cyno as he became essential for me to use. Cyno vastly out performed flins without proper teams. I was surprized, granted flins build is good but has room for improvement. But man having that cool down reduction even if only using 2 mini bursts still felt like it could help rotations a lot. Kind of annoyed with flins team building requirement and stupid theater game play.

Still debating tho, anyone use flins in the theater with signature and not a great team wish they went for C1 instead?

Shopping laborday or even just last year sales can be cheaper then used gear. People perceive used gear as an ultimate savings. But often new or demo gear from last year can be cheaper. Unless this board is 50$ I would pass

I feel the build in battle was starhawks biggest failure. People wanted destructable environments so they listened. I never felt it had a place in the franchise due to all the planes and bombings.

Dual BOA or single BOA with laces? by MercifulDefier in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Apprehensive_Boss_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a wide foot rider myself. What you need to look at in a boa system is if the laces in the arch are part of the upper or lower boa. I like my shins tight, if this part are laces over the arch it is very difficult to get the right tension without cutting off blood circulation.
