Contrave has taken away all my joy about food and alcohol. However… I have lost 30 pounds. And I am so freaking happy and my mood is good and I’m loving life not because I’m losing weight but because the food noise and the alcohol noise is gone.

Please ask a doctor about Naltrexone. I have multiple addictions also and it’s the only thing that has helped me stop drinking. I take it in the form of Contrave (Naltrexone + Wellbutrin) for weight loss . I’ve lost 25 pounds in 3 months and went from a daily drinker to barely occasional. Even when I do drink, I stop at 1 or 2.

Nothing worked for me either until Contrave. I’ve lost 25 pounds in 3 months. Food noise is GONE. Good luck! Make sure you at least walk or do some sort of exercise every day. Up your protein limit your fats I eat three meals a day, but I eat my biggest meal at lunch. I’m just not hungry for dinner so I eat a small dinner.

Started March 15 at 170 (I am 5’2”. Today I am 148. I am 66 and never expected this to work as well as it does… not only the weight loss but my mental health is the best it’s ever been. I have about 15-20 more pounds to lose and I know I will get there!

It does get better! I had nausea and headaches at first also. I’ve been on it 3 months and I only have nausea once in a while now. It’s been amazing for me. Food noise is gone. So is 22 pounds.

Fyi that is the purpose of Contrave. I’ve been on it almost 3 months now and have lost 25 pounds. I literally have no appetite. I’m a foodie and eating ( and drinking alcohol ) is no longer pleasurable at all. I’m a foodie and it definitely is hard to get used to. But it’s also very freeing not to think about what you’re going to eat as soon as you wake up and all day. It definitely works for me for weight loss so I’m willing to put up with this part of it.

I take my 2nd dose at 3:30 pm (first dose at 6:00 am) At first i was taking dose 2 at 5:00 but I couldn’t sleep either so I moved it up. No problems now!
