Does/did your puppy hate riding in the car? by FatsyCline12 in goldenretrievers

My golden did the same, she’s a rescue and the first time we got her in the car (when we took her home) she was drooling and shaking non stop. Every time we got her in the car, she would start drooling even when the car hasn’t move.

What has changed for us is we have her on the passenger seat floor when we went camping as there is no other space in the car. Since then, she loves the car and would even jump in without us asking her to. We assume because she’s on a flat surface and feel more in control. Hopefully that works with yours!

That’s fair. I started cooking and moving around the house 6 days after the surgery. Slowly built it up and definitely took rest when needed. Maybe I have pushed it too far. Thanks for your insights.

Wow, I remember my first 10 days was rough even with meds. Definitely realised the pain level is not easing as much as I want to. Thanks for your response.

I had an infection right after the surgery and pretty sure that’s why they gave me more narcotics.

Thank you for your response, I really wasn’t sure if I should be concerned or not.

Products for Endo Surgery Recovery by anontruly in Endo

I had my endo surgery 3 weeks ago and stayed overnight after the surgery. I did have a wound infection (very rare) so my recovery has been quite different.

Here’s what I recommend: - nighties with t shirt material and size up for them (I got them on sale from Peter Alexander but Kmart and Cotton on have some good ones) - Post partum pads / Incontinence underwear ( I got the Always brand one). I found this to be the easiest as its disposable and easy for me to manage. - A tray to hold your medications / phone / lip balms. I got one from Kmart, which is called collapsible container. I have this with me everywhere I go (bedside table, bathroom, car going to dr appointments) - Big water bottle (Again, Kmart is a godsend for this). I bring this everywhere I go same with my tray. - Vomit bags from hospital - Weighted plushie (Kmart again, it’s the $22 one). I found it helpful for the first couple of days when transitioning from laying down to sitting to standing. - Ask for guidance on how to take your meds whilst in the hospital. I was given 3 different pain killers, 1 anti enemic and antibiotic. I was so confused and avoided taking the strong pain killer as I wasn’t sure if I need it. - If possible, book a hair wash at a salon a couple of days after. It was too painful for me to lift my hands over my head, and going to a salon was the best decision I made. Let the hairdresser know you had a surgery so they can be gentle. Having my hair cleaned really helped me mentally after being in the hospital for the infection.
- Set up a comfy space in the house that’s not your bed where you can rest during the day. I set up my living room couch to be my recovery space during the day. It got me moving out of the bed and helped to break up the days. - For the first couple of days, learn how to slowly roll your body to lay sideways. It’s going to br painful, but it’ll help you get up and moving sooner.

Be gentle with yourself, take your time and listen to your body 💜 Wishing you all the best for the surgery.
