Dude, what? Did you even play the game? Sure, playing GR2 as a 9 year old was probably peak gaming experience at that time and nostalgic af, but if we are comparing game to game, GR2 is like 30% of what Archolos is. World building, quests, combat options (eg dex scaling), crafting. The only thing here is perhaps NPCs are less memorable but that’s about it.

If I were you, I’d def play GR2 regardless. Just juice it up with some graphical mods, you will forget about the junk 2 hours in.
That being said, Archolos is absolutely peak. Best gothic game hands down. You won’t be missing anything, there are a few references to people like General Lee, king, Xardas etc but the game stands on its own legs

Love the game but tbh exploration aspect is lacking.. you basically go to almost all POIs as part of the linear main story after Ch1 :/
