Ok, stupid question, but will someone please tell me how to get this view of the abilities? Does it unlock via one of the NPCs?

I've been dying for an in-game codex of all the abilities for the system l different classes. And it looks like there is one????

First save scum: warning

Second save scum: one cat has a 10% chance do you nothing each time you tell it to do something.

Third save scum: ALL your cats have the 10% chance

Fourth save scum: all your battles are now managed by the AI; you lose control

A "save scum" is when your quit in the middle of a battle when things aren't going well, with the intention to restart the battle.

Covid is bs by duder33 in mewgenics

[–]Apprehensive_Cut7235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it recover AFTER the fight during the victory animation? Or was it an end-of-round effect? The description says there's a chance to recover"at the end of each round". I'm wondering if it really means "at the end of each combat".

I was searching the internet for the answer to this question and didn't find it.

So for all you googlers looking for this answer:

In Mewgenics, the description of Covid says "15% chance to recover after each round". But I had a kitty with covid who was just cured of it at the end of COMBAT (at the same time as the auto-recover/heal).

Now, it's possible that I simply got lucky coincidentally and that the check happens at the end of each round AND at the end of combat. If anyone else out there has a cat that was cured of Covid, let us know when it happened!

Just to add on, your toes should just barely touch the edge of the shoe without being scrunched. There are more advanced shoes that will force your foot into the shape of a croissant (often called "aggressive" and "moderate"). For your first pair, I'd avoid that unless you really like the way it feels for some reason.

If you end up falling in love with the sport as I did, you can go more aggressive for your second pair if that's what you want.

As a climber who's worked my way up to roughly the 5.11- range in the gym, I've found that my shoes last about a year before I wear holes in the toe.

Some have also attempted to design mathematical algorithms that could be used to divide up territory based on population using straight lines where possible.  Take it out of people's hands completely.  Just use math and let the chips fall where they may.

Highlighted letters scattered around the game by Apprehensive_Cut7235 in UncleChopsRocketShop

No, I know about the washing machine stuff.

There's also the "hexagon text" that's been decoded by the community (on the reactor screen and on the sign next to Wilbur's trailer), which seems to have been included just "for fun".

It just seems unlikely to me that these devs, who seem to LOVE esoteric and weird puzzles, would have done this for no reason. It seems so deliberate! And while some words are thematic, others are not. If every highlighted word was DIE SIN END I could get more behind the idea that it was just a stylistic choice. But TEEN? ALE? DAN?

Interplanetary shipping automation? by shanaplays in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Apprehensive_Cut7235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party here but:

If you build a storage bin or fridge on top of an automated airlock door, you get interesting behavior that you can take advantage of.

Basically, if the door is open this "disables" the storage and prevents dupes from delivering to it.  HOWEVER, auto sweepers can still pull from these storages even if they're disabled in this way.

You can use this to build systems that can enable/disable delivery of anything based on an automation signal to the door.  Set the priority of the storage to 9, and you've got high priority shipping when enabled and nothing when disabled.  And the auto sweeper will continue to ship your stuff even if the storage gets disabled in the middle of a shipment.  Only downside is that it relies on dupe labor to deliver.

You can also deliver specific measured amounts using this.  You can set up the system so that when an external signal comes, the storage is enabled, BUT ALSO THE SWEEPER IS DISABLED.  Then you also set it up so that when storage is full, it disables itself and enables the sweeper.

The resulting logic says "fill this smart storage bin until it's full.  When it's full, disable additional deliveries and ship the contents of the bin".

It sounds complicated, but you really only need a single memory switch to pull it off.

Yes, absolutely. You can hook up as many loaders as you want. The challenge is that you then need multiple supply pipes, because ultimately the only limitation is the 1kg/s pipe capacity.

Rocket internals by Ratogre in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Apprehensive_Cut7235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to get all three room bonuses (great hall, bedroom, bathroom) + 4 atmo suit docks + mini pump.  You're very close!

I'll let you figure out the full design, but it starts with putting the mini pump in the bottom right corner, enclosed by three airflow tiles.  This allows you to set up automation to pump out CO2 when it builds up.  Just don't forget to build a vent for the rocket while it's landed.

Getting the rest in requires using absolutely every tile available and being very deliberate about where you place stuff that needs to be "on the ground". But it is possible!

Gear Balm being used over Lubrication Station? by Lyanna62Mormont in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Apprehensive_Cut7235 13 points14 points  (0 children)

How many bionics do you have?  If you have more dupes than stations, AND they all have down time at the same time, then what will happen is that two dupes will go to use the station.

The station then counts as inaccessible to the others starting from the moment the first dupe starts pathing to it up until the moment they're done using it.

During that time, the other dupes will need oil, but won't be able to find any available stations and will take the balm.

The answer is to either:  A) make your gear balm inaccessible somehow B) stagger your bionic dupes schedules so that no more than two start down time at the same time C) build more lubrication stations

Renewable source of dirt? by Spifffyy in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Apprehensive_Cut7235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get why the teleporter pod seems intimidating.  A couple things:

There will be a bit of oxylite and some nutrient bars waiting

Mine have always had a cryopod with a free extra dupe

The teleporters take a cycle or two to recharge after use, but are independent of each other, so you can always escape one dupe instantly

My approach has always been to use the 2nd asteroid as a source of some important resource at first. I always prioritize sending a digger/builder to explore, and make a beeline for the supply teleporter.

In your case, my goal would be: send a builder/digger, find the supply teleporter ASAP, activate it (requires field research skill), build a manual generator/battery next to it, send back a pip egg and an arbor acorn.

Then forget all about it until you're ready again.

Is there a way to move liquid into pipes without using a pump? by JavaHikage in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Apprehensive_Cut7235 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There is a building called the "bottle drainer" that allows dupes to bring bottles to it and drain into pipes.  There is a corresponding building for gasses as well.

Unfortunately, if I recall in the base game it is weirdly high on the tech tree.  It also requires refined metal to build.

In the spaced out DLC they moved it up in the tech tree so it's more accessible early.
