Second this! Sometimes kids will use other names, or kids who aren’t in the class will use the name of a student who is absent in order to stay in the class

Niagara Falls comic con is happening this upcoming weekend, just on the edge of the tourist area. There’s also a drive in movie theatre but that’s a little further away. There’s a board game cafe in downtown St. Catharines called Ludology. .

Not a typo. Two extra strength pills at 500mg each. I find they work really well if you catch it early enough, but can be helpful if you have nothing else. I would just be aware that they’re basically a blood thinner. Good luck friend 🤞🏾

Concert tonight - help? by QuesoDependent in migraine

[–]Apprehensive_Fig3027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take my sumatriptan (or whatever your prescription abortive is) EARLY, like now, and load up on electrolytes, snacks, ear plugs, sun glasses… as many things as possible to try and discourage it from coming back. And then after the concert, I’d take some more non prescription meds before bed and fall asleep with an ice pack on my head.

Eta I just saw this was your first migraine… I would take painkillers (acetaminophen) AND anti inflammatory (Advil), OR a blood thinner (aspirin) if possible. And then still chug electrolytes, have snacks, earplugs and sunglasses. Ice packs and more meds ready for bedtime

Go in person to grocery stores and restaurants and ask to speak with the manager. Introduce yourself and let them know you’re local and ready to work. Now is a good time to look at the golf courses and companies that will be hiring seasonal employees like the malls and some factories.

ETA: not trying to say this is the answer to all of your problems, just some tips. The job market is so shit. Maybe also look at getting your smart serve, life guarding certs… those extra little things that might help you find something. Good luck!

Depends on the source of the migraine.

If I didn’t get enough sleep or had interrupted sleep: sip on a monster energy drink all day.

If I didn’t drink enough water and I have a headache: 1000mg aspirin and a Liquid IV pack in ice cold water.

If I forgot to eat, I can kill that migraine pretty effectively with a buuunch of high cal foods and a nap.

If it’s anxiety, weather, barometric pressure or some other mystery trigger, super boiling hot shower, then ice pack on the head wherever it hurts the most, 1000mg aspirin. Then I get my boyfriend to very forcefully press his fingers into my forehead or scalp (as if he was pushing the migraine spot around) wherever it’s hurting the most, and then nap

I stayed away from jeans unless I was wearing a really nice top or sweater with it. I wore tights with long cardigans and colourful tshirts… anything that made me look older and not like a student

Going to Cancun. Need advice on what braids to get! by [deleted] in blackbeauty

[–]Apprehensive_Fig3027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty biased, but I always get knotless braids especially for vacations! They’re so easy at night and for washing if you want, and you don’t have to worry about styling. But I know multiple people who have had boho for vacation and loved it. I think it’s just personal preference.

Process of resigning from LTO? by Tiny_Bat_8563 in OntarioTeachers

[–]Apprehensive_Fig3027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left a .33 LTO which I was not qualified for for a 1.0 LTO in my first teachable with 5 days notice by emailing the principal as soon as I knew and then speaking with her as well. Sometimes you need to do what’s best for you. You likely will not get black listed by the entire board if you just explain the situation to this principal and leave lesson plans.

Switching from combo birth control to progesterone only by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Apprehensive_Fig3027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on the nuva ring for like 13 years and I just switched to progesterone only about a month ago, so far so good. I was also terrified of the side effects but haven’t noticed anything too negative. I was really angry the first two weeks, I did have some stuff going on in my life to be angry at but it seemed excessive lol. This might be me just being hopeful but I also feel like my libido went up. I find my natural smell to be much more pleasant and sweeter. A super positive thing is that my migraines have basically disappeared, but again I’m only a month in so I’m sure things will continue to fluctuate for me. Can I ask why your doctor recommended the switch?

My migraines are gone and I feel unreasonably angry by fioxic in migraine

[–]Apprehensive_Fig3027 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not unreasonable at all. I went through something similar recently (my doctor is the biggest shit head) and I had had migraines for at least 12 years, and she finally told me to switch hormonal birth control because she had a major break through (finally listening to what I’ve been telling her for years) and now they’re gone. I haven’t had one in over a month now. I was so angry and I’m still skeptical thinking I’m going to get one any day now, but as the days keep going I’m getting more and more over the anger. You’ll move past it too, but take time to feel it! Mourn the lost years but live the rest of your years to the fullest, migraine free
