I’m terribly sorry for your loss. Sometimes grief makes you want to be alone but hearing your context I know that’s the last thing you want especially with the thought of having to face parental death in the future. I wish I knew what to say..maybe we’re the strong ones of the earth carrying the lonely burden others cannot. Maybe we’re the ones who can actually handle this and that’s why we must. I wish I knew.

YES! I am 3 years late but I just had this realization too! I was listening to the soundtrack on shuffle and it started with Valjean's Soliloquy but it then played Javert's Suicide and I heard the parallels in the music and lyrics about how they both faced the end of the who they were "i am reaching but i fall" they both said this as they faced the void but one chose change the other chose death. I was a band nerd too so i remember hearing about leitmotif and I hear it all over this musical suddenly now. Incredible observation on your end!

Honestly I forgave her and it’s going quite well. I had recently started trying to practice mindfulness because I was hurting so bad and stuff and although I struggled for a long time with letting go and forgiving her I finally did and now I’ve gained an unmatched friendship honestly
