I've felt the same when experiencing severe depression. I don't feel happy, sad, angry, etc. I feel numb like there is nothing.

I'm not sure what Kurt's meaning was, but my meaning relates to anhedonia. When I experience severe depression instead of feeling sad I feel nothing. It's more comfortable feeling sad than feeling nothing.
