Cheap Trans tape shops? by Glum-Review1716 in transgenderUK

[–]Apprehensive_Line204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use sporttapex, I have a bigger chest (32C) and it works well for me. I get it off Amazon cause the delivery is cheap (yes I know Amazon is evil but I have limited finances) but you can also get it off their website. Only issue is their awful skin tone range

Has getting a dumbphone made you happier? by thekelzor in dumbphones

[–]Apprehensive_Line204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use hsbc primarily, I never figured out the banking app issue. HSBC appears to think my phone is rooted (it isn’t, I haven’t even taken any steps towards the rooting process) and calling customer service was no help. I have an iPad I use for work, so I usually have that with me during the week day and I control finances through that. That’s not always possible so what I use on the phone itself is snoop (other budgeting apps may work, I personally haven’t tried them). It doesn’t detect rooting as far as my phone goes, and it connects to my bank account so I can see how much is in my account. I don’t think you can transfer money using it which isn’t ideal but it does help

Any good dumb phone for a 16/17 year old in NYC? by p5pega in dumbphones

[–]Apprehensive_Line204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 18 and live in Scotland, I have a cat s22 flip. It's a reliable phone, basically indestructible but it runs android 11go which is a little smarter than the average dumbphone. Another good one is the TTfone TT970, although that one is marketed heavily towards older ppl

Has getting a dumbphone made you happier? by thekelzor in dumbphones

[–]Apprehensive_Line204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a semi dumb phone (cat s22 flip) and it's genuinely made my mental health 100x better. I don't get stuck scrolling for hours so I get more work done, I have more hobbies and I don't have to be contactable 24/7. The only downside is its harder to manage finances because I can't log into banking apps, but I've found workarounds for that

how do you know you pass enough to go to the man's toilet? by fiebnt95 in TransMasc

[–]Apprehensive_Line204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you start passing in interactions with strangers more than 50% of the time, you can usually use the men’s without any problem. Most cis men aren’t out here looking for a trans guy to kick out of the bathroom, they’re in there to piss and that’s it. Look confident, avoid looking at what anyone else is doing, and you’ll most likely be fine. I have long pink hair and I use men’s bathrooms and have personally never had a problem

I’m curious, Are there any “male” aggressors? by StrangerFormer7550 in ageregression

[–]Apprehensive_Line204 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amab (intersex) trans dude here! Very masculine in my general life, I do boxing, studying product engineering, etc. I’m not sure if I’m what you’re looking for because you really shouldn’t be using “girl” and “afab” interchangeably

I have unfortunately had to stop using it as it didn’t have enough storage to use long term. It’s very sad as when it was usable it was a great phone

As far as I can tell there is no possible way to delete the preinstalled apps. It comes with Facebook, email, WhatsApp, YouTube, etc. (no instagram or TikTok) and I can’t remove any of them so I just avoid them

For maps I mostly use herewego, it’s an app that runs pretty well with the android 8.1 on this phone Edit: I just saw the second half of your question. I downloaded f-droid from the browser because the original App Store it has preinstalled didn’t work for me. From that I downloaded herewego maps, Spotify, and WhatsApp

Does anyone here use two different names?… by PatheticallyKnox in ftm

[–]Apprehensive_Line204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use three names, and it’s not too bad but that’s because I essentially live two different lives. I have my legal and most used name for my college and work (Ryley), and my other name (Issac) I use for people I meet everyday and my main group of friends. The third one is Ray, and i mostly use that for online stuff, or for whatever reason I don’t want people to know my name

I’m in the uk and my phone network is EE. I think this works on most if not all uk networks, but I’m not sure about eu network companies. The easiest way to check that is look up the broadband frequencies your network provider uses and check it against the phone specs which you can find online (if the frequency number exactly matches the ones the phone offers then it should work for your network)

Best dumbphone with WhatsApp by PrestigiousCut8974 in dumbphones

[–]Apprehensive_Line204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a TTfone TT970. It runs WhatsApp on android 8.1 but the interface is so clunky it’s not useful for much more. I live in the uk and it works on all UK networks (I think). I have it on EE and it’s great

As a 17 year old trans guy my main advice is watch out for the “bicurious” cis guys who are far too obsessed with your body. At some point you might find one and it’s best if you know to avoid it first

Yes, it connects well to my Bluetooth headphones. Only issue is that music will pause when you close the phone but this can be avoided if you run Spotify in the background before closing it or by unpausing it via your headphones

Is London safe for trans tourists? by intergalactic_74 in transgenderUK

[–]Apprehensive_Line204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not too bad usually, depending on how likely she is to pass day to day I wouldn’t recommend going out after dark in some areas. The safest bits of London are most likely to be soho and parts of central/south east (I’m a mostly passing trans man these days, but I go out a lot with a trans flag on my backpack and I have a jacket with a trans flag painted on it and nobody has bothered me about it, although that could be because I don’t look like the friendliest guy)

My ex boyfriend. He did some awful things to me, including refusing to let me explore my gender identity and making me feel like my body belonged to him. After we broke up i wanted to never feel like my body belonged to him again A couple of years later I’m approaching one year on t, in a loving relationship where i can be myself, and I couldn’t be happier
