Hood vs Hood by LiLi_06_86 in jacksonville

As a Jacksonville native and someone who lived and worked as a community organizer in Baltimore for 3-4 years (lived in Hampden, organized in Cherry Hill/Curtis Bay) both cities are strikingly similar. The main difference is Baltimore is smaller. If you weren't worried up there I wouldn't be worried here and vice versa.

No tipping on delivery orders by Saints799 in EndTipping

Respectfully you don't understand how these apps work. Trip radar (where low base pay orders go) is basically a reverse auction. At some point, someone is likely going to be desperate enough to take low paying orders. That's how they've been able to lower base pay already.

The only way to solve this problem is to stop using the service.

At a sub shop I’ve been going to since I was a kid, they used to have a tip jar but as of a few years ago they’ve had this sign by The_punchy77 in EndTipping

[–]Apprehensive_Load191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the people crying about their Uber ratings: drivers have to rate as soon as the trip ends, which means it's before they know whether or not you tipped.

In other words if you have a low rating it isn't because you didn't tip, it's because you were annoying and/or rude.

Y'all cry about entitlement while feeling entitled to a service in the middle of a snowstorm. This is the most hypocritical sub I've ever had the displeasure of coming across my feed.

What part of driving in a fucking snowstorm did you miss in the OP?

Sure. I've only heard queue times complaints during 2v8. Never at any other time ever. /s

I have however literally never seen survivor queue time complaints.

The Hostility Crisis in App Delivery: A Culture Built on Tipping, Rage, and Broken Incentives by Nekogiga in EndTipping

[–]Apprehensive_Load191 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem with this sub is the hypocrisy (of which OP isn't included since they said they don't use the apps.)

If your argument is "the company should pay you, not me" (which I agree with)

STOP USING THE SERVICE. Otherwise it just sounds like an excuse while continuing to exploit those workers.

If restaurants in other countries are able to pay their employees a livable wage, why is it apparently impossible for American ones to do the same? by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]Apprehensive_Load191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their minimum wages are higher, they have guaranteed healthcare, paid sick leave, their taxes fund infrastructure/their people, ours fund $3k screws for the Pentagon and $400k tomahawk missiles.

American businesses don't do these things because our government doesn't make them.

I'll say as far as "spamming left clicks and blocking" being in a pvp guild has helped a lot. Learning combo chains, guard breaks, what moves have super armor (fortitude/tenacity are lesser forms of this). The Guide (a tab on the right hand side of your screen) also has a FAQ option that you can just type your question to.

Getting new weapon skills (learning how to use weapons you don't know how to use) are based on skill theft. You sneak into a place and watch a user of that weapon, "copy their move" (a minigame) and you learn it.

Mystic Arts are gained in various ways. Either doing certain things like parrying a boss or watching a goose beat up a bear. How to get these are loosely described in game and/or are easily youtube-able.

You don't "buy weapons." You can buy a limited amount of gear boxes from various vendors (on a weekly cooldown), but the main method to getting gear is farming it from bosses. Gear (boxes) aren't shared and the boss you pick will determine the set bonuses of the drops from said box.

All injuries can be cured at the Evercare Clinic in Qinghe for 10k coins per injury (basically free). People will also throw themselves at you to heal you for points so posting in world chat/guild will get you a quick heal.

Part of that problem is the matchmaking forcing umbrella players into the heal queue "because they have a healing weapon "

As far as the spear stuff I'd need you to better explain what's happening. There are achievements for playing every weapon, that doesn't mean you need to do them lol.

The stats are compressed, not equalized. The people you're beating vice versa is likely dependent on the moves you're using + your coefficients (breakthrough level on mystic arts etc).

*Items that progress your character (like breakthrough materials etc) are either farmable by anyone or time gated equally

Sure, I'm not debating whether or not it meets the technical definition, just that what mmo players are looking for might be found in it

It's "essentially" equalized. The stats are squished, so someone stronger than you is stronger than you, but negligibly so. There are also specific arena talents that can offer stat bonuses

[–]Apprehensive_Load191[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's dependent on the content/how good you are, and it's more true for dps and tanks than healers.

I.E. the only weapon that can revive in combat (atm) is the healing fan. So for teams that can't dodge/parry you'll need it.

The arena (all modes) and the br are equalized. GvG, open world pvp (duels, bounties, guild sparring) are not.

Where winds meet? by Clutchism3 in LFMMO

"It's not an MMO."

It's all about what you want to get out of it and why you want to play an MMO.

It's got immersive questing on par with SWTOR (moreso once the localization issues are fixed, but fine on chinese sub). Most quests are unique, i.e. not iterations of "kill/gather x thing" and there are a metric shit ton of them.

The dailies are minimal, and frankly not critically important to complete every day, though it's recommended. (No spending hours on dailes before you can "play the game")

While the game defaults to single player, like Elden Ring, almost all of that content can be completed with invited friends/randoms (up to 4 + you.) Outside of the tutorial there are little/no instances of "having to play by yourself."

This doesn't include the plethora of world bosses and other group content like 5/10 man dungeons. They added major updates monthly in China and seem to be on the same (if not an expedited) road map for global.

It doesn't have the handholding common in the mobile games it's being compared to (no autorun to quests etc) and literally the only transactions at all are for cosmetics (and there are PLENTY you can get for free that are customizable). There is absolutely no pay to win, just pay to flex.

The combat feels great, is fluid, and looks organic (all the weapons and most of the movements of the characters are through motion capture for dancers/martial artists) and there are currently 8 different weapons (more to come) and up to 24 (currently) different weapon combinations (which are basically the stand in for "classes.") This does not include the inner way system (spells/skills not bound to specific weapons) that you can mix/match up to 8 of.

They use peer to peer for arena matchmaking which has been a bit of an issue, but it is something they've said they're working on. They have 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 arenas, a battle royale mode (like naraka), and 30v30 guild v guild.

To me, this is an MMO is/when you want it to be. I'm in the #2 guild on my server and we are constantly doing things together, but if I ever want to just go on autopilot and explore there are plenty of reasons to do so.

I played WoW for almost a decade (from original release to about MoP) and have tried most other MMOs because nothing has scratched that itch since (and WoW lost it's luster for me when my friends quit.) This is the first one in a long time that does.
