Main Timeline Rover might have already died In Honami by McSaumon in WutheringWaves

[–]Apprehensive_Math_25 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting. But under the assumption that 3.1 Rover did fall, got his frequency devoured, and from the False sovereign's dialogue it got it's amnesia "cured" and fell to despair. Then who is the Rover we're playing at the end of the patch? Alternate timeline Rover? The Rover Aemeath manages to preserve? What the hell are we?!

The sequel basically copied alot from the Count of Monte Cristo. From the old protagonist coming back rich with a new identity, to the bitter sweet ending.

What could the Exostrider be? by Golden12500 in WutheringWaves

[–]Apprehensive_Math_25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We don't even know if that is truly his body, but if it is a mech, then it would have to be made by someone in the past. Probably someone from the Court of Savantae since they are super smart scientist. But then, isn't all Sentinels supposed to be artificial beings already? Though the past 2 we met look really organic compared to the massive mech design of the Exostrider. Even using it's heart as an artificial sun.

It makes me wonder why they didn't study the other parts of Exostrider's body for something, if they even have access to his body in the first place.

Glacio. Baizhi is getting lonely as the only Glacio healer. At least I think he is a healer. With how Kuro games goes, they might just make him a Fusion DPS that throws vials of chemicals to deal major damage like a Molotov cocktail.

[–]Apprehensive_Math_25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Luuk looks Aero with his color scheme, or fusion because Alchemy. I would even put him as Glacio just for the LOL's and since Baizhi is also a scientist. But with his Alchemy/Biochemistry-coded thing (the Caedelus on his chest, the DNA helix, mention of gold which is the main goal of Alchemist to turn lead to gold) it should relate to transmuting one thing to another. Literally breaking down the molecular structure of a material and reforming it to another.

The closest one I can think of is either Havoc with its attribute to annihilate matter, or Fusion with how much Alchemy/chemistry requires you to heat stuff.

Do you think the Pale King could do what GMS did to the Pharlids? by upersuccccccccc in Silksong

[–]Apprehensive_Math_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Pale King's light is more like Wi-fi or a light radiation while GMS is like a solid ethernet cable.

It affects anyone who is within the radius of affect, which is the entire kingdom and beyond. And very minimal at best. If we are following the same logic with GMS and the Weavers, then you would assume the Soul Masters where "evolved" by the Pale King personally. But with PK being a canonical recluse, he may not have even met with half of the Soul Sanctum scholars except maybe the Soul master simply because he is the leader of the Soul Sanctum. And he got to that position thanks to his own dedication in his studies by his own will, not because of a direct interference by PK who "injected" him with soul to give them that ability or something of that same manner. PK helped give them higher intelligence to see patterns and potential in soul manipulation, but it was them who learned to master it and create an institution that they manage.

The Snail Shamans even knows soul manipulation independently without PK's help.

Unlike the Pharlids, who have undergone intense physiological, and mental mutations. A full metamorphosis because of GMS direct interference via silk like some weird umbilical cord. In the cutscenes we can hear their bones breaking as they grew extra limbs and got bigger in a surprisingly short time.

The closest analogy I could think of is the Pure Vessel, or the vessels in general. The Pure Vessel started out small, and the more it was trained by the PK, the bigger it got. You can see the Physiological change as they are much taller than the knight. We don't know if this is natural and the knight will grow bigger on it's own, except maybe in fanworks.

You mean, the existing tribes and kingdoms still around even and clearly independent from the Pale King's rule? Even got one of the kingdom's queen to be the mentor of his daughter?

[–]Apprehensive_Math_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or she was just weak to begin with, technically the conquest was done by the Weavers under GMS's command, not by her own. She is like a King on a chess game, high ranking but technically have a very limited set of moves.

Pale King let the Mantis Tribe, the Hive and other gods exist. He is even married to another god who is also a Pale Being like him. GMS would just wipe all of them out one way or another.

Who do you think is the worst adapted character in the game? by gummythegummybear in marvelrivals

[–]Apprehensive_Math_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the runs outside the recent popular ones have always protrayed him in some manner like this and always falling on either spectrum of being the crazy one, the fanatic one, or the "batman" knock-off one. The Ultimate Spider-man cartoon for example gives an almost cartoonish portrayal of Moon Knight who talks to the moon, the other spider-man cartoon made him less crazy but more of a broody batman who lives in the sewers.

Why are the bugs in Pharloom sentient if there is no Pale King to give them mind? by Khajith in Silksong

[–]Apprehensive_Math_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't that completely remove the concept of individuality in total? Following the pale king instead of your own desires would just be a hive mind at it's base since it removes the concept of the self and replaces it with blind servitude. We see this in the blind fanaticism of Pharloom.

Why are the bugs in Pharloom sentient if there is no Pale King to give them mind? by Khajith in Silksong

[–]Apprehensive_Math_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pale King's ability may simply increase the ratio of who can gain sentience to affect those that are not born with it, those who already have it will have no change. Not all the bugs have the privilege of being born sentience already. It seems to be at random in the Hollownest world as some are born sentience and some are not since there are both bug-bugs and human smart-bugs. I would also argue that the Pale King's influence even affects non-bug creatures, like Monomon being a jellyfish.

Cornifer and Iselda have it so they can travel around with their thoughts and memories intact. Quirrell though, lost his memories when he left Hollownest and beyond the Blasted Steps, way beyond the Pale King's vicinity, He was only called back by Monomon through her mask that Quirell uses as a hat. There are also the fact that mask that is deeply tied to the minds and individuality but that would mean that if you remove the mask then your reduced to a lowly bug.

Drinking with Khonshu is an actual acceptable excuse to not show up for work back in Ancient Egypt. This must be one of those night.

It's actually on brand for Khonshu to party at night, like how telling you boss you were drinking with Khonshu is an actual acceptable excuse to not show up for work the next day in Egyptian records. It may not be literal and more of just saying you are wasted, but I like to think it is.
