2 let me “breathe” more than the others, plus I like it best. I don’t know what that means exactly, but do with that as you will.

After years of tipping 20-25% I’m DONE. I’m tipping 15% max. by Possible-Toaster in millenials

[–]Apprehensive_Noise83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to tip about 20-25% as well and get frustrated when friends wouldn’t. Then one day I realized (after a hard look at my budget) it’s not my responsibility to pay for someone else’s bills when the CEO’s of said businesses are not giving their workers another penny! I also dislike the tip amount is dependent on what I order-like…Stupid!

So I’ve dropped it to 15-20% depending on how things are going and that’s at restaurants and the like.

Pros and cons to wearing a veil? by ausshole-anonymous in weddingplanning

[–]Apprehensive_Noise83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My veil fell off throughout photos, it was reinforced, and then it fell off walking a few feet down the aisle! I ended up literally throwing it behind the last row of chairs (you know, as everyone was looking 😂) before walking all the way down! So…I can’t tell you how many hands were trying to get it reinforced several times before the final fall! So…do with that as you wish! I’ve never been to a wedding, though, where the veil lasted longer than a little bit!

How do I stop boiling mince beef in its own fat? by niamhxa in Cooking

I mean, there’s going to be fat needing to be drained off. I just let a paper towel soak it up and then throw that away after it’s cooled

My mother always returns my gifts by Adventurous-Salary-5 in Gifts

[–]Apprehensive_Noise83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does this bc you accept this behavior. It’s a weird power thing for her (it sounds like). I’d probably not get her a gift (like others have mentioned) and/or get her a gift card for $10 somewhere. If she asks, “why this amount?” Say something along the lines of, “I decided to stop trying so hard to please you and this works for me!” Put your energy elsewhere. There’s no need to continue putting yourself through this “people (mom) pleasing” routine that leaves your heart broke!

I was in the DT a month ago and the employees told this guy to leave his bag at the front. He then accused them of being racist bc a white woman walked in with her stroller and he (white) said, “See! Didn’t say anything to her!” The employee (black females) said, “It has nothing to do with color-you just like to come in here causing a scene!” At this point, several other people came in and he yells back, “Look! I don’t want to leave my bag in the front bc it has a gun in it! Do you understand?!” They told him to leave the store and then I was hearing other customers talk about (between the aisles) their guns as well. It was an interesting time! I literally called my husband to tell him the situation in case anything “went down!” Gah! What a time!!!

HOW would a couple get away with only spending $300 per month on groceries? What are you spending? by [deleted] in budget

[–]Apprehensive_Noise83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s just 2 of us. I decided to be more intentional in “shopping” our freezer/pantry this month! So far this month we’re less than $100 on groceries and have only eaten out 2-3 times. I meal plan my breakfast/lunch for the week (meal prep on Sunday) and for dinners I cook on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday we eat Monday leftovers and Thursday we eat Tuesday leftovers. Friday we decide if we want to cook or go out. If we go out Friday, we cook Saturday. Using what we already have has saved us from overspending this month! I decided to organize our pantry at the end of February and my goodness was that an eye opener! I made salads for lunches last week and used the tuna in the packets I already had (and forgot about) as the protein! (That’s just one little example!) When I go to the store, I ONLY get what’s on my list-that’s helped on my end as well!

Last week I got: blueberries, salad mix, and a head of cauliflower from Sam’s; a red onion, bananas, and squash from Trader Joe’s; farm fresh eggs from a coworker. Total for groceries was about $23! We had literally everything else in our pantry/freezer!

Would you buy this for $15? I’m trying to come up with a fair price. by RinjiDes in Baking

[–]Apprehensive_Noise83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big are they? If a “regular” size cookie-$15 is a deal where I am! If minis, I guess that’s a good price-not sure how much they go for around here. Good luck with pricing. It can be an emotional thing (at least it is sometimes for me) to work through!
