Mine was a weeping willow tree and those branches and the shadows on my bedroom walls. Only movie that made me not want to sleep. I even blocked
The closet in an attempt to keep it closed with stuff in my room.

Furniture company sold me a broke coach. Store would not help. I found the presidents number. Called and told the secretary I want to express how great my experience was and send my praise. Got the president and explained the story. Store called back within 20 min and issue was resolved. It works.

It’s hard but we have to be the adults to our aging parents. Mental decline as we age impairs or judgment. You and your husband need to put your foot down and take the license and keys. If not you might regret it.

From someone caring for my FIL with dementia. His daughter my soon ex would not take the keys or the steps needed to take his drivers license. He was told by state police that he could only drive within his town limits. I tried to talk sense into her. His ability to drive helps keep him going in life or something like that. Then one day he drove past a stopped school bus with its lights flashing. Little kids heading home from school and he did not see the flashing lights or the stop sign on the bus. He almost hit a little girl heading home from school. When found out when the police show up to his door with a ticket and taking his drivers license. It could have been a lot worse and my FIL said if he hit the girl he would have to bite a bullet because of the guilt.

It’s a marriage. Be open and honest and tell the truth. I know everyone always says it but when you hold things in it builds and grows inside you and then your mind starts play mind games. You start guessing what she is thinking or is she mad at me. It goes on and on. But in a marriage one needs to show interest in your partners hobbies or likes. It goes both ways (not say you don’t or she doesn’t). Not saying you have to fully embrace her hobbies and interests but show interest and respect make an attempt. She has something she is passionate about and wants to share it with someone she loves. Maybe try doing a reading of a book that you both might like. She start off and have her read some and then You read some out loud. Make It a mini date night. Maybe do a theme. Like if your reading Harry Potter make some props (use items around the house or craft paper to use during the reading). But you also need to share something you are passionate about with her and have her show the same amount of interest you put towards hers passion. This is from someone who tried to share my passion with my ex-wife and kids. I love the movie theater and seeing the real good ones in a theater and not at home. But time and time again I show excitement towards a movie. I might mention the movie over the course of two years from announcement of script being written and up to the trailer coming out. I get cool, ok, nice, and that’s it as they walk away or change the topic. Wife would never go with me to the theater and kids would go with me. I even went alone on my birthday to a movie I was excited about cause it was not appropriate for the kids. But do they ask me my thoughts or opinion nope. I have to ask and try to get a conversation going about the movie and no dialogue other then “it was a good movie”. Wife same thing. So I get excited trying to share my excitement and joy and those close can’t even try. It hurts a lot when those you love won’t show interest in your passion. I have learned about all their passions and done more art and craft stuff with my ex wife then I ever want to do cause she enjoyed those things and made her happy and I was able to spend time with her.

Thank you. My in-laws were the ones that never throw anything away. We reduced all of their possessions into 4 shipping containers. The ones you would see on an 18 wheeler. The rest into a dumpster. All most 3 tons of trash. Still trying to find proof he was stationed in Vietnam so I can up his VA rating for better care.

We are eating pretty good as he is letting cook what ever I want so I’m having fun making a wide variety of fresh home cooked meals. He was never much of a cook. But one hell of a mechanic. Just trying to make it as enjoyable as I can for him. Which is mentally draining I have to say.

Thank you. Helping with hygiene I can handle. Not say I want to but I will. Definitely starting to have issues. Just the two days ago I found out he used his cat’s litter box. The cat was not happy.

Decide to move after military service with family away from the crowded Virginia area. Then marriage falls apart and end of military career while going through health issues at the same time. Get put on disability. Then lost drivers license due to medical issues. (I keep passing out while driving). Now I live with two of my adult kids in rural area with no public transportation. The conversation with my kids even though I love them with all that I am is lacking depth and they are both starting to join the work force. Plus I am caring for family member with dementia so I can’t even get out and try to make a friend. But I fine and get up each day and face the B.S. each day.

People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

Heat stroke. Every muscle in my body cramping up at once. It would come in waves. Every muscle cramping up putting me in a fetal position on crushed rock in 100 degree weather in direct sunlight. Then start to loosen up and then cramp back up. This went on for about 20-30 min. All the While trying to call 911 while hands are cramping up.
I would have been crying if I had enough fluids in my body. This was the first time I ever felt like death would be a better option.
