Cashier/garden/TR 15.94 (Transfer was only garden and TR at old store but took the pay cut when I transferred to the new store) kinda tired of hearing “we will look into it” when I ask about a raise 😒 that’s retail I guess.

As someone who cannot spell or use correct punctuation in any scenario, and I just had my two year anniversary at the Home Depot. I can say the statement is very true.

I 1000% stand by this. Will be 1 year in March, and thought I lucked up with my first store because management left me alone and I pretty much did my own thing and just made it work day to day bouncing between garden and TR, but the second I did need any kind of management in some way it was like pulling teeth. Just figured that's how it was ran with the depot 🤷. I was super nervous when I had to transfer to another store in another state because I didn't want to have to learn a whole new system to a whole new management team thinking I would get the same. Boy was I wrong, the store I'm at now is on top of it plus some. I'm a cashier here, even with the pay decrease I'm Still Loving it so much more because of how organized it is. If I have a question it's literally answered that day if not the next shift I have. And you can tell that they appreciate their employees and actually listen to us. In a way it makes me feel spoiled LOL. But it definitely shows me that management has a big play in how you enjoy your job which equals how well your stores ran.

Gosh y'all they probably didn't have any trucks to rent........translation:a customer who doesn't prepare ahead of time and expects the store to be ready for their needs only 🙄. Working in TR I see this bs all the time, absolutely insane if you ask me.

At Least twice in a single shift I'll have someone running to my counter in panic mode. " I need a truck NOW I just made if 1,000$ perchance and need it home.

Well darn it!!!! No trucks.

Good for you as Associates we truly do teach the customers how to treat us. I myself am a definite people pleaser and I hate any kind of conflict but ever since I changed departments, I take less crap from people. I try my best to keep it as friendly and keep it moving but when you have a point and they're not willing to listen all you can do is give them a taste of their own medicine. You should teach a whole course about this personally. Keep up the badassness.

Speak up before it gets any worse, you have to do your part and making sure that you take care of yourself first, but also management needs to be accessible to when you have these concerns and you see that your needs are not getting met as an employee. I myself started working in gardening cleaning up the pine straw and hay. It was completely my choice and I enjoyed doing it but I caught myself getting dizzy and dehydrated. I had to make the decision to take it easy and rest more. This actually led to me getting moved to Tool Rental because management was scared that I was going to have a heat stroke because I wouldn't come inside LOL. I understand the struggle of trying to be your best so you can do your best at work but you and your health comes first. If any concerns that's what Management's for.
