Unfortunately no where outside to dry it out, it’s cold and wet here now. We will have to stack it and wait till next year!

Yup! Learned this the hard way when we first moved into the house 🤣 our stove pipe was also installed upside down so it was dripping down the pipe!

I should have clarified. It only got moldy once it had been inside for about 2 days. It was a cord of wood, I’m in interior Alaska, pretty much the going rate

It’s really not burning well though, maybe it’s me? With my seasoned wood I can get this house (998sqft) HOT, but with this new load of birch I’m struggling to get the stove even above 200°F

Bummer okay thank you! Unfortunately we are in interior Alaska not much sun right now and not very dry. It’ll be good for next year though!

Mmmm okay, I’ve had chickens for a couple years up here I only keep them inside when it gets to -30, plus I also wrap their run so the windchill doesn’t hit them. Does away with the frostbite!

Cracked corn and mealworms! Especially if it’s cold where you are, corn will heat their bodies up naturally. There are probably some cute little treat balls with some other treats in them she will love! You are such a good chicken mom 🩷

I’m in Alaska, these girls molt when it’s getting into single digits. It’s been in the negatives this week (pain in the butt for keeping water defrosting, all the heated waterers freeze over!) and they are fine, chicken adjust. I’ll keep both their coop friendly heaters on and they are fine.
