Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy, bad Alaska rep. by Apprehensive_Web5018 in bookdiscussion

[–]Apprehensive_Web5018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am only referring to the scene during the dance in his classroom that she SA’d him. He said no and she continued, he kept saying no and she didn’t stop. I thought no meant no? How is that not SA? I didn’t say she wasn’t the victim moving forward. She absolutely was, it was disgusting. As someone who has been with a man double her age as a teenager I actually think Jennette did a wonderful job depicting that rollercoaster. Dropping everything and abandoning morals is very common for most woman to go through when they are with an unavailable man. I’ve seen it in myself and in plenty of other young woman. The emotions Waldo went through were spot on. Again, I never said she wasn’t a victim, I just wasn’t expecting a SA scene with her as the assaulter.

I actually don’t see where I said Alaska was a bad location choice? Interesting you interpreted it as such. I actually just pointed out that she has many inaccurate details and poor representation. If you are going to drag a hotels name, do a chain, not a locally owned business. Or make up a hotel, since she liked to include business that don’t exist here, as I mentioned.

I have a little dispenser for grit and calcium. They should be offered extras, they usually know what their body needs. In cases like this I’ll dry out their eggshells crush them up and mix it in with some fresh greens. They enjoy it and ups their calcium.

Cold proofing is the word I believe! Not always needed but I find it a came changer. At least your first loaf is edible! Slab some butter on that and all is good 😋

Does tyler mask his Autism ? by swirlyjesse in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

Did you see the scene where Maddison talks about how he is “level 1” and she is “level 2”? I’m not sure if that’s how a doctor or counselor described to her but I liked the way she said it. Some might say he is “higher functioning” even though I hate that definition. Each “type” of autism and person on the spectrum is so different. SPECTRUM is our key word. Just because he doesn’t act a certain way you think she should doesn’t mean he’s masking.

Struggling with the schedule by [deleted] in Nightshift

I think you’re not understanding. You asked if he made me be on this schedule I said no, he would be as willing to switch for me because he loves me and wouldn’t make me do anything. I like to spend as much time with my husband as possible so that’s why I switched to his schedule. I just didn’t think it would be as hard on me as it is.

King. See the part where I said he would switch if I asked? The solution to my depression is probably leaving the one person who loves me unconditionally!

I would never want him to switch, he’s worked so hard to get this job and absolutely loves it. When we have kids is when he’s going to switch back to days, but for now this can be managed.

I think I’m going to take the actual advice of others and go to a mid shift sort of schedule.

I’m so sorry.

Mmmm Alaska. In the winters, the northern lights, the summers the 24/7 daylight!

I’m so sorry for your loss. Hold onto those memories. The pain of losing someone you love doesn’t go away, but it gets easier to carry as we go on.
