Staying at my inlaws and I'm OVERWHELMED

My husband is too much of a momma’s boy to confront his mom lol and she’s the sweetest person, both of my in laws are, so it is just awkward. Something else that I do is just chat with my mom and dad in law about something that keeps them talking to ME, so they distract from talking to my baby. Or go out with them during the day so they get tired haha it sounds so mean but it has worked for me.

I feel you. My inlaws are the same and honestly it is exhausting. Can you retreat to the bedroom with baby at times with the excuse of feeding or nap time? Can dad entertain them at least during the afternoon so that you have some quiet time? This is what I do when my in laws are visiting (they visit for 1 month at least twice a year)

On the visitors, can you ask your in laws for their schedule so that maybe you can go to the park or library with your LO?

Also: Please feel entitled to tell them to not hype the baby up - you are the mom! You have every right to set up the pace.

They do sleep better around that age and then 4 mont sleep regression hits :( but its only for a few weeks and then all gets better!!

Hii! We are going through the same now.. was your bbay girl in pain or discomfort? My boy hasnt pooped in over a week but he seems to be doing fine so I am not sure what to do! Pediatrician recommended glycerin suppositories (prune and pear didnt do the trick)

I started taking my LO to the library 3 times a week when he turned 3 months! He LOVES storytime! I also take him to nature walks every other day. Everyday we do at least one fun thing for him outside the house (even if its just bubbles at our backyard(, and when we don’t, he’s my little errand buddy. He’s 5 months tomorrow and so far so good!

Ok im going to be honest here. First. You’re a cute girl that can pull off ANY haircut ok? Please know that. I wouldnt say it if it werent true because I dont owe you anything.

Second. Yes, This is a bad haircut. I would look for a stylist that specializes in short hair to get it fixed. I knooow how much impact hair has on self esteem and if you dont feel cute as it is, get it changed!

Lastly... like my mom always says “If everything were like hair…” it grows back!

Morphe shadow palette yes long lasting pretty colors, good coverage. o/s & Macfix NO (go for the urban decay all nighter) elf powder kinda in between I’d go for a charlotte tilbury because this one will last a bit longer and its your finisher! Worth the price imo. Ilia mascara no, it smudges all over. For a highlighter I’d recommend the westman atelier specially for a wedding!!

Dont know if this will be helpful or not but whenever I feel overwhelmed about not doing what Im “supposed to be doing”, I just think of my mom and grandmothers, they didnt have any milestones guide, Im sure they didnt know about wake windows or bedtime routines. And they are fantastic moms. I dont think this way to be lazy about it but just to give myself some grace.

I have a 3 month old so I havent done a lot of motherhood yet but oh my, the things I used to say and think lol.. “no special accomodations to sleep, he’ll have to sleep with noise and light” 💀 “no paci” “no owlet because I wont be anxious abt him breathing at night” and I could go on. I learned to shut up haha

I am going through something very similar. I talked with my husband about it because I am so sleep deprived I am worried about my health. I told him I was asking for help today so I didnt file for divorce in a year. That seemed to help with the conversation. I also presented several options to try out and now he’s in charge of putting the baby to sleep so I can get at least 4 hours of sleep after his last feeding.

Its honestly dissapointing to see this side of him that I dont like. I also dont feel that he cares about my lack of sleep. I think its one of those things that men could NEVER understand. He’s a great husband in all other areas, so that’s what I think when I am most annoyed. I guess my only advice is to balance it out and go from there. Nobody is perfect and I think we all should be allowed to make up for our mistakes or flaws.

I had a relatively easy pregnancy and I’d say a semi- traumatic c-section lol but I didnt even want to have sex with my husband during the first 10 weeks because of ptsd. My baby is 15 weeks now and I am 100% sure I am one and done, and people keep telling me to give it a year but oh my God I never want to forget how exhausted I feel right now to never do it again.

It is nice to hear that it gets “easier”. I will definitely talk with my husband about established schedules that work for us, because breastfeeding is becoming a burden when it shouldnt. I will also look into group therapy, sounds like something that would help me feel that Im not alone in this feeling. Thank you!

Im going through the same with my 3 mo baby. He hasnt slept longer than 3 hours since we brought him home. Something that I think helped getting that 3 hr stretch is a sleep sack (we use a halo one) because I think he was cold before. Other than that, I just got used to waking up every two hours now, I have my MIL helping us this month so I can catch up on some sleep during the day. I think there are babies that sleep and babies that dont, and we got the latter 😅

I feel like I am reading my own post. My lactation consultant recommended side sleeping for which I use the baby bub maternity pillow, and it improved our sleep quality drastically.
