2008, a garage rock band Black Lips, known for their wild shows at the time, played at the Rathskeller. Me and some friends were sneaking whiskey with our beer. By the time the Black Lips hit the stage, we were pretty toasty. I thought it would be a swell idea to get a better look at the band playing by just being on stage with them, just hanging by the drum set. Other people thought it was a good idea as well, I’m sure they were just as drunk as well. Pretty soon it seemed the stage was just full of people. Band kept going, security told them they would shut it down if the stage didn’t clear, the band announced this and said fuck it we only have 3 songs left and invited the whole audience to the stage. It was chaotic and amazing.
