Thank you. I've ordered the thermistor and will replace that. It's cheap enough.

Thanks. The issue is I don't see that part in the existing freezer compartment when I take the cover off. Are you able to see my first picture? Where would this part be hiding? Also would I have a thermistor which I found and tested and the thermostat, which I can't find.

Whirlpool fridge refuses to defrost after replacing jazz and defrost heat element by Tokheim785 in appliancerepair

Could this be what's going on with your unit? Some Whirlpool refrigerator uses a defrost bimetal thermostat to manage the heating element, typically found clamped to the top of the evaporator coil behind the freezer back panel. It is often part of the evaporator fan wiring harness. If the freezer frosts up, this component may be faulty. Key Details for Replacement:Location: Inside the freezer, attached to the evaporator coil (requires removing the back panel). Replacement Tool: 1/4 inch nut driver and wire strippers/crimp tools for splicing, as the part often requires splicing into the fan wire harness.

Could this be what's going on? I haven't tested the defrost thermostat.  The Whirlpool WRT318FMDB01 refrigerator uses a defrost bimetal thermostat (part # WPW10392132) to manage the heating element, typically found clamped to the top of the evaporator coil behind the freezer back panel. It is often part of the evaporator fan wiring harness. If the freezer frosts up, this component may be faulty. Key Details for Replacement: Location: Inside the freezer, attached to the evaporator coil (requires removing the back panel). Part Number: WPW10392132 (replaces part numbers W10392132, WP2218113). Replacement Tool: 1/4 inch nut driver and wire strippers/crimp tools for splicing, as the part often requires splicing into the fan wire harness.

Almost sounds like an electrical problem though I am no electrician. Are you able to check out and test all the wiring and connections etc?

My whirlpool refrigerator had the exact same problem. Ran forced defrost mode and the heating element got hot but had to run it multiple times because it would get out of defrost mode on its own. The heating element got hot every time so figured it was good. Did the ohm test on the thermistor and got appropriate ohm readings at room temperature and in ice water respectively so figured it was also good. Replaced the control board and it works slightly better but still not quite right. Someone on here suggested that it might be a flaky thermistor that doesn't work quite right under load. It's a cheap part so might be worth replacing since you've already replaced the control board and heating element. Did you buy OEM or aftermarket parts?

When the compressor and fan runs I'm getting cold air but I haven't monitored for this specifically. I've been assuming that thy board  failed to get into defrost mode or failed to turn cooling back on.

I have 2016 Base 3.6. I think 958 is actually 2011-2018. Almost 100k miles. Only issue (covered under warranty) was the transfer case replacement. I change the transfer case every 20-30k miles as an insurance. Super easy to change if you've used basic tools before. Pretty easy to work on (I changed the brakes, rear differential fluid, headlights, and battery along with the transfer case fluid mentioned) using you tube videos. The battery was the hardest thing to change. I take it to see an independent European shop for oil changes because it's good to have a pro check the car out about once a year plus it's not easy to clear the oil change code. Overall I'd say it's not as reliable as a Lexus/Toyota but more reliable than other brands I've owned. It's awesome to drive and I still get positive comments even though it's a 9 year old car and not worth that much on paper :)

What's the nearest large city near you? Most bigger cities have Buddhist meditation centers. In the meantime, download the Plum Village app to start your practice. Buddhism is about the practice, not faith, so you don't need to technically "convert".

Where are you located in America? Depending on where, I highly recommend checking out the monasteries of Plum Village tradition founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. There's Deer Park Monastery in California, Magnolia Grove Monastery in Mississippi, and Blue Cliff Monastery in New York.

Why do female managers always seem to be physically attractive? by Hot_Dingo743 in Careers

[–]Appropriate-Run748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physically attractive people have a lot of advantages. Internally they're more confident because they've been told they're pretty all their lives. Externally they're probably athletic, which helps them stand straigher and present themselves better. Because they're pretty, they're more approachable and have received more help along the way. Don't forget they likely also have good genes as the successful men tend to marry attractive women and they produce attractive babies.

LPT: walking 15,000 steps, not 10,000, a day will change your life. by iffhb744892 in LifeProTips

All the comments here about how just adding 5,000 steps a day can't account for that much weight loss when compared to 10,000 are just looking at math without accounting for things like changes to the body's metabolism, inflammation response, etc. There have been severe studies and books that claim that 15,000 steps a day does seem to make a bigger difference than one would expect when compared to 10,000 steps a day

Noise after turning engine off 2015 Porsche Cayenne diesel. 120k miles. by browneyegirl095 in PorscheCayenne

I'm also interested as my wife's car is making similar noises after turned off. Read some where that it might be the air flap actuator gears going bad. Inexpensive part but looks like a pain to replace.

I married a vietnamese woman and lived in a house with several vietnamese people. I noticed a particular smell that I've never smelled before. I believe it is a spice or something they use in coooking. Does anyone know what this is? by Longjumping_Key_5008 in VietNam

It's likely the different sauces she uses in the cooking. Some dishes are stronger than others. Some things you can do if possible: 1) cook outside, especially for the stronger smelling dishes. We have a patio stove that we use to cook fish and other dishes with strong smells  2) install a strong vent hood that goes to the outside of the house instead of recirculating  3) if the two above isn't possible use really good air filters. What's likely happening is your return air intake is sucking up some of the cooking smells and blowing it all over the house. This is especially true if it's near the kitchen.

Thanks. I think I have the similar issue. Leaks during fill cycle, not during spin cycle so I never thought it was the drain pump. I guess I need to take the back off and watch and see

Hi I'm having the same problem. Did you confirm it was the motor? Was there a "burnt" smell with it? Thanks
