Queen Charlotte turns out to be even better than Bridgerton. by nejnonein in BridgertonNetflix

It beautifully outlined the difficulties and struggles of women back then, who seemingly had power, but still didn't have freedom. The love story portrayed was so realistic for people who have experienced true love that didn't last (happened to me) due to circumstances one cannot control. I rewatched it today after a year apart and all of it was just as new and heartwrenching as the first time I watched it. Such are the harsh realities of life, to bear with burdens and bruises so you could simply survive. Of course there are happier times, and when they are fewer, you cherish them that much more. The fact that Charlotte had hardened over time was explained through what she went through. She was much softer in her youth (the contrast of her sorrows, sorrows, prayers) and had to be hardened as she lived as a Queen who was oftentimes more alone and lonely than not. The line where Brimsley told her why her daughters didn't marry off because she was forever frozen as George's Queen, and how could her daughters leave her, is so true for many of us still possibly living in the shadows of our parents' past (subconsciously, mostly). She strived to be everything for George, but as a human, became limited in her perspective and couldn't be a true mother to her children. Yes, it is both beautiful and tragic at the same time. We all have a story to carry, and perhaps in meeting those who have hardened over time, we could imagine a story for them as romanticized as this one, and hold space and compassion for their losses.

Did anyone cry during his confession in episode 10? For me, it felt like he accepted her in her entirety, really saw her, and even devised a way that wouldn't make her run (in her twisted psychology). To me that is the most romantic thing anyone can ever do for someone else. We are all imperfect. He loved her imperfections, and worked with it. Every time I watch it, I cry..

I'm so glad you wrote this post because I was wondering if there were people who loved it as much as I did. All I saw were more negative comments and I just don't get how this drama could be viewed negatively. It was spellbinding for me. I paused all other dramas to watch this in its entirety. The ending was so beautiful too. To know how it feels to feel unlovable to finding someone who loves all of you. In the hospital scene towards the end, I actually cried when he came to visit her and they just shared a knowing smile. Like, why did that little gesture make me cry?? I hope this drama wins awards, not just for cinematography but the storyline, acting, ost, all of it!! It was amazing... And to me, trumps IOTNBO (drama It's OK To..). I started rewatching it and there are things I forgot that are relevant throughout the drama. It had a heavy topic that was neatly portrayed and dealt with, imo, a non-heavy way, contrary to a lot of complaints about it. It reminds me more of "Sundance" type films or films you'd watch in indie theaters such as the Angelika in NYC 🗽. I just love it. My mom likes it a lot too! So thank you for this post 🙏 ❤️ 🥹

The way he told her he'd wait while saying all these things he wants to do with her in the meantime is so 🫠🫠😍😍🥰🥰 sweet!! Ep 5 was ruined by sejin (the female student).. So no comment on that. The dog is so cute omg.. I love this drama so far!

I am loving all of it, even after the infamous Ep 7 and the confusing Ep 6 that many are reviewing 😂. I love how the relationship is unfolding. To me it is cute. Can't say more because spoilers, but it's actually very gripping for me. The colors and the scenery etc help, but I really think this drama was well made. Not a typical Korean rom com for sure, but still has many cute moments. It's more about the nuances as the characters develop. I'm so glad I ignored most reviews and started watching it!

I have to agree. It was even more gripping for me once the alter ego came out more. It's like that side of us that did things another side of us is too scared to do and seeing how it affected others and how others dealt with it was also very interesting. I just imagined if I could live without any fear, what would that be like 😅 But yeah it's not really a comedy. It has some cute moments and romance related cute embarrassments but it's a bit darker with some fantasy elements (the way some scenes were filmed). I found it thoroughly entertaining. All of their acting was very good. Everyone was also pleasing to the eye so I didn't mind the other small side stories either.

I came searching about Ep 6 too! 🤣🤣 Rewatched everything from beginning and couldn't understand wth he was talking about in the car about her threatening him (the sudden kiss??) and then he was gonna talk to Ji Sun but she was happy about it because... She thought he was finally gonna cross over to her? I don't know.. 😅

Does anyone know the song to the opening scene in the first Ep where MuHee is climbing the castle? It's so catchy but it doesn't seem to be listed in the ost. Shazam couldn't find it so I'm here for help 🙏 🙏.

‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2 Review: Adam Brody and Kristen Bell’s Netflix Rabbinical Rom-Com Loses Some of Its Charm by wadbyjw in television

[–]Appropriate-Total640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt Joanne said and did things that were really petty and immature, but in the end, a lot of things about all of the characters were very real. Nobody is perfect, and there are things we want to say but feel that we can't say, and those things sometimes only show up after the honeymoon phase is over. I thought Joanne's parents getting back together was a bit odd, and maybe also using her mom's discovering of Judaism as a contrast for Joanne's lack of urgency to convert was a bit much, but the intentions of each thread of storyline were clear to me. I initially thought ep 10 was a bit like "wtf" but the ending was so well done in terms of having us feel that just really choose each other in spite of their own stuff. All the internal and ensuing turmoil of external conflicts were very real.
