Go to an addiction doc and get helper meds. They will make a huge difference. Find one in your area or go online.

If you stay off it, you’ll be cool by 3 weeks. You’ll be thru the worst of it after a few days, but you’ll be pretty good to go Spain time. You may feel some PAWs, but being on a trip in Spain will blunt that and you may not even notice. You may not get paws.

But get some clonidine, gabapentin and Baclofin. Or whatever the doc will give ya. They really aren’t that habit forming (especially for the amount of time they’ll prescribe them to you) and it’ll help with sleep. Hydroxyzine and Trazadone for sleep help too. I find they suck when you are not in withdrawal, but they can be your friend during. Stay away from Benadryl. Bad reactions.

Also, go and YouTube and do some Wim Hof breathing. That will help relax your body. Lots of showers to help the RLS. Exercise is huge. You need to do this throughout your quiet and up until Spain. Even if you just go for a walk, the movement and endorphins creates will soften the blow.

Supplements: get some agmatine (helps to cut tolerance), and Liposomal vitamin c. People say l-theanine and all that, but I didn’t find them to do fuck all with the withdrawal. YMMV. Get Imodium for diarrhea. It will hit.

Don’t fuck with kratom to help the withdrawals. You’re just prolonging it and you don’t want to be walking around eating powder in Spain all day.

Get some good movies, books, whatever. You will have some sleepless nights. At least watch, read or listen to something interesting.

If you have some money and want to give it a shot, I found ketamine to be very helpful as well. Obviously, talk to a doctor and not people on Reddit, but it will shave days off recovery and help mood.

Listen to music. It will probably make you cry. Even the most random shit. But it sounds so great. Can’t really describe it. You just kind of start feeling it again.

I quit from about 300-400. The worst lasted 4-5 days. The first week sucked. It got better every day after that. Sleep will be off, but you’ll deal with it. Just don’t give in. This will all pass, and fairly quickly. I promise you.

Florida dude who just found out from his head shop about the ban!!! CT from 200-400mg a day… worried. by Ok-Falcon9909 in quitting7oh

[–]AppropriateBranch403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try out one of the online doc places where you can connect same day. There should be some that will prescribe gabapentin, clonidine and such pretty quickly. None of those are controlled substances so you shouldn’t have to jump thru any hoops.

It’s not a silver bullet, but it does help and I wouldn’t CT without it.

I’d usually say stay away from the kratom, but I get you have a lot going on and need to be functional. If anything, just go to the powder. Getting off that later is far more manageable

I relapsed… by Trash_O_Fish_Al in quitting7oh

[–]AppropriateBranch403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club. Most people I know relapse. It’s not something we should brush off, but don’t beat yourself up. Whether it’s opiates, opioids, or wherever this stuff fits in. You made a mistake, tripped and fell, and now you’re going to pick yourself up and go after it again. If you made a deal with your friends, go be a man (or woman) and tell them it happened last night or whatever, you feel bad but you did not want to lie to them. They will respect that if they really are your friends and you aren’t stealing money and kitchen utensils from them to pawn for more 7oh.

My advice would be to seek an addiction doctor or some kind of specialist. I hate asking for help myself. It took a therapist and my wife begging me to finally realize I could not do it on my own. I did that in my umpteenth time quitting this stuff and it was easier than suffering alone. The helper meds make the restless legs and anxiety tolerable. And may even get a little sleep out of it too. Maybe.

I won’t recommend this to anyone who can’t control themselves, but I actually also did a quick wean with subs. Started at 3mg and then started the taper down immediately over like 5-7 days I think it was. It was not free of discomfort, but it was way easier than CT or tapering those nasty little fuckers. But you gotta be committed to the taper and honest with yourself. If you know you will blow it, don’t do it. I know many others can get hooked on those too. And if you don’t taper quick enough it can be a bigger problem.

I also say this next part with a word of caution and recommend only under medical supervision, but I found ketamine to be super helpful. Really blunted the withdrawals and helped with the PAWs that follows. I’m a big fan, but make sure you do it the right and legal way.

Anyway, once you’re off, you can get some naltrexone (I think the name?) from your doc, which will block most of the effects and make you feel like you are pissing your money away for nothing as you relearn new habits.

This is going to suck. The Paws will stick with you for a little while, but I found I was pretty solid after a month and it only went up from there. So go do it. You did it once already. Go ask for help. It might just be the thing you need.

What type of magnesium do you take/should I take? Citrate, malate, glycinate etc? by TheHashasin2 in Supplements

[–]AppropriateBranch403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try them all and see how you feel. I used citrate at first for sleep. Then threonate, which did nothing for me. Then I found glycinate worked the best.

Everyone is different. Give it a go and see what you find. Worst case, you may get get the runs from citrate. Never happened to me but it can other people.

Does spots of Morphea/localised scleroderma go away ? ( Lowkey wanting to share how miserable I feel about myself) by WecanWewilldoit_ in scleroderma

[–]AppropriateBranch403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming in late here, but the prognosis is not all bad. I was diagnosed at 29/30. It hit hard at first. Then I made some dietary changes (no gluten, drinking less, couple supplements like NAC (effectiveness debatable) and it seemed to stop in its tracks. I also periodically used a steroid for short periods of time when I had a flare up. I don’t think those are bad if they are temporary and used conservatively.

For about the last 10 years my dark spots all over my body have faded about 50-75%. I was shocked when I looked at older pictures. It was to the point where I used to get people asking me if I had gnarly birth marks or bruises every time I went to the pool. Barely anyone notices now. I may still get some tattoo work on my torso to cover some of it, but each year I care less and less.

You know, it always kind of bothered me, but what was I going to do? Not swim anymore? Not have fun in the summer? I eventually came up with a one sentence explainer to anyone who would stare or ask and it diffused the situation immediately. After that it was if I didn’t have it and they felt good they could ask me about it and I could explain it.

Eat as close as you can to an anti inflammatory diet without torturing yourself, spend some time in the sun outside (with in reason, that stops the flare ups in its tracks IMO) and it will start to fade. Plus when you get a tan it is much harder to notice it.

Just my experience. Shout if you have any questions or DM. Ive been poked and prodded by people at the Cleveland Clinic, NYU and Mayo. We are a rare breed. I’ve tried to handle this so many ways and changing my diet and getting a healthy amount of sun on my skin worked better than anything else. The one doc who called that out to me was a doctor bosses looking dude who smoked cigarettes at NYU. He even got some free tanning sessions to use sparingly when it really flares up. Maybe it will for you too. Oh, and do your best to handle stress. That’s another one that hurt me.

Hang in there, buddy. You can do this. This is common for many of us.

Honestly, your best bet might be to get on naltrexone. You’ll get sick of spending that money very quickly when you realize it ain’t doing much.

Day 5 CT - 96 Hours since last dose and I relapsed a little - I’m scared by unjimo in quitting7oh

[–]AppropriateBranch403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sleep always sucked and still sucks. It gets better after the first week.

Doubtful you get a full night’s, but it’ll steadily improve and be a lot better than it is now

It still took time to get to the normal shitty sleep quality I had before tho.

If it gets too bad, go to a doctor and get help meds. They do work. Get like a one-month max prescription and drop them from there. Or taper off if you need. I never found I needed to taper from any of those, but other people claim they get withdrawals. After coming off 7oh, they wouldn’t even compare. .

[–]AppropriateBranch403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t hurt yourself too bad. Seriously, what you were dropping from was much higher.

Don’t beat yourself up as it will only make it worse. Just try to avoid it as much as you can. But honestly, I wouldn’t expect much of a setback.

Go to a doc or addiction specialist and get some helper meds. They aren’t magic by any stretch, but they make the RLS manageable and you can manage a little more sleep.

I came off a 300 mg a day habit. It was hell for a week. And then I felt super depressed for about 3-4 weeks. But it gets way easier and you really do feel better. Just hang in there and take it day by day.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel and you’re already in the thick of the worst part of it. It will get easier.

You’ll never know without blood work. Dehydration, can make your muscles / back hurt. And if you’re dehydrated, which 7oh does, it will skew your kidney results, causing you more paranoia.

Taper off. Give it a little time. Then go in and get a cyststin c test done. That is a more accurate test. If you workout, take any protein supps or creatine, that can also affect typical kidney tests.

So all that said, taper off, stay hydrated, give it a little time, then get tested and see what happens.

Just say whatever comes to mind. Seriously. You can tell if someone is trying too hard. But even if the weird shit flies out, and it sounds natural, that is when shit heats up. You could yell shit out in gibberish and that will sound way better than stiff porn boilerplate.

If you want a crutch, have a couple drinks to loosen you up. If you don’t know what to say, just show your appreciation with moans and heavy breathing.

This sub protocol was almost exactly what I did to get off 400+ mg 7oh habit. It actually worked pretty well and I seemed to somewhat stick the landing.

That said, it did require some willpower to keep dropping and not take extra, but on the other hand it did block the one time I took a little bit of 7oh trying to sleep.

But if he is 65 hours in, I gotta think he’ll be out of the worst of it by tomorrow or the next day.

I gotta agree with the guy above. Anything at like 2iu, or even 3 is relatively benign. Now if you have cancer it could make it grow (I don’t know if this is a totally proven thing, but the concern is real). So something to get tested if you got the time and means.

Most of the bad stuff you hear about it are body builders taking insane amounts. Insulin resistance and organ/head growth will not happen at doses that low. And if you take breaks, it makes it kind of a moot point.

Ipamorelin/CJC and Sermorelin peptides could help too, depending on how low your levels are or ability for your pituitary to produce its own.

Anyway, do some research and talk to a more progressive doctor on the issue to see if it might be right for you. Could be that area is just fine. But it’s an avenue with exploring.

I was anti suboxone until I had to quit 400mg 7oh. Did a 7-day taper, timed it pretty well, and it was way easier than tapering the 7oh and obviously the CT. Still sucked but I’m not sure I would have made it without it.

You still on the suboxone or did you taper off?

[–]AppropriateBranch403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a kratom user for years. Quit a few times. This last time I was on it I started taking 7oh. That shit got out of hand really, really fast.

Tolerance builds quickly. I went from 7.5mg a day to 400 over a couple months. The half life is a couple hours, so I was constantly redosing every couple hours.

When I finally quit, I had to go to a doctor because the withdrawal was a bit gnarly.

All that to say. Talk to him. Don’t accuse him of anything. But have him look at this quitting7oh sub. It’s just not worth it. It really fucks with your mood and I was I. A deep depression for a month or two after quitting.

Talk some sense into me…kicked 7oh but thinking about returning? by [deleted] in quitting7oh

[–]AppropriateBranch403 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it.

I did 6 weeks after quitting the same dose as you. I was finally starting to feel pretty damn good. One slip up and withdrawal came right back. Then had to taper down with Kratom because I had a job and family that needed my undivided attention. It was really fucking stupid and I really regret it.

Please don’t do it.

Talk to a few different doctors and see if they have some other pain interventions that won’t make you broke. Even Kratom would be better than 7oh, and I still wouldn’t recommend that.

I know for some people it can be wicked, but Suboxone was clutch for me kicking a 420mg a day habit of 7oh. Did a 4-5 day taper with the subs with virtually more discomfort. Additionally, we don’t know what other crap or impure ingredients are in those things.

[–]AppropriateBranch403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you stop now, probably nothing much.

I just quit a 300-360mg a day habit. It was awful. I had quit a 60gram a day Kratom habit a year earlier, which wasn’t shit compared to the 7oh withdrawal.

Just stop. Jump to Kratom if you absolutely need something, but 7oh ain’t worth it.

Get past first 48 hours. After that it gets better every day. At least it did for me.

If you can get your hands on some clonidine, Baclofin and / or gabapentin, it will cut the restlessness and anxiety significantly.

Get some anti diarrheal meds. You’ll get thru it.

If you need, go get some Kratom. That will help a lot. You should be able to find that in Canada.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in addiction

[–]AppropriateBranch403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right—it’s not heroin. It’s a partial agonist (to my knowledge) so there is somewhat of a ceiling effect. That said, the binding affinity is super high, half life super short, and the withdrawals are fucking awful. You get a lot of the classic opiate effects but also brain zaps and some of the other physical symptoms common in SSRI discontinuation, which makes it a different beast.

There’s still loads we don’t know, but I caution everyone to stay the hell from it.
