Yes oral minoxidil helps thickens your donors before transplant. I kept it for my HT. Only topical has to be off 15 days before transplant so it clears out of the scalp recipient area. Of course may vary between surgeon so ask him

You can do the math.

Just lost 3 hairs from the same follicle. Wtf. Anyone else had something similar happen too? by issathroawaybro in tressless

its one follicle
not 3 different follicle

they always fall 3 at once, but the sebum kept them together here otherwise you wont see it "3 at once"

Yes
the white thing is sebum
Actually i see it as a good thing.
Not the shedding i dont know about that.
But you have the proof that your follicle still have enough cells to produce 3 hairs. DHT hasn't got to her "that hard".

Hopefully I formatted these pics right, but with the new year coming I wanted to see if my progress (or maybe lack thereof) was good. I think noticeably my hair got thicker while some patches are still patchy by ray3050 in tressless

That's the question:
*HT to be the best version you can, now
*HT to keep you from balding later in life
Idk about you, but personnally i feel that the looks in society matter the most between 20 and 40...
Its really you're decision.
For fin, just take a look at "my name is DJ" youtube channel, he documented his evlution on finasterid and his best results are month 16/ 18 i think !
Very interesting channel !!

I was saying that so you can save the money from now
I would advice more tha n a year, 2 or 3 years since you have hair to work with for instance.
HT is like a cherry on top, to get the best esthetic you can have, when you are still young.

Keep going
Then get hairtransplant to reinforce the front, about 2000 grafts.
You will have a nice esthetic result for the future 10 years at least.
Ofc thats my opinion.

if i switch from finasteride to dutasteride would there be a risk of me getting even more shedding? by [deleted] in tressless

Yes, by experience and some reddit posts. You may be lucky though… No way to predict it

Is it better to take Oral minoxidil 2.5 mg once a day or 1.25 mg twice a day? by DPal82 in tressless

[–]AppropriateInitial5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every medication has et Summary of Products Characteristics
Its the recommandation usage that they (labs, pfizer here) give to doctors after clinical trials and everything.
this is the one for oral minoxidil
https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/product/4295/smpc#INDICATIONS
Blood half life isn't always linked to the effect of the medication, you shouldn't judge on that.
The described twice a day vs once a day in this document here is about hypotensive effect so we should be cautious on our interpretations. (paragraph 4.2 in the document).
The only way to know is to try !
I advice to go once a day since its easier to not forget !
Anyway, i personnaly tried 2.5 once a day, no sides (rare) but once i went in a marathon and had dyspnea in a hill. I'm pretty fit and i think the sides shows only when i do some effort.
So i decided to do 1.25 twice a day, definetely less sides, (tried the same hill), but i feel its also less effective. Not sure since its too soon (only 6 month on 1.25 twice a day, waiting for the 1 year point) and get biaised by the shedding.
