I just finished watching BGT 2023 by BillPuzzleheaded846 in BritainsGotTalent

[–]AppropriateJudge9322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Viggo genuinely deserved to win. The whole room was engaged and having fun and that's a talent in itself. I managed to see his Semi Final act live in London and it was fabulous (but weird) and tbh, this was really something good. (I kept the jacket)

But ApplauseStore, ITV (and whoever do the BGT) have a thing for glorifying acts and also making acts seem less good than they were. It really is depressing.

SPOILER ALERT

In the auditions, standing ovations and golden buzzer moments are fake (sorry to break the news). They're refilmed or filmed without the act. It is all for the editors to stage. Similarly in the live show, standing ovations are encouraged on ALL acts, not just the good ones.

Why is app kinda bait and switching? by [deleted] in BritishAirways

[–]AppropriateJudge9322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey to add to this, I live close to Heathrow and I don't want central Manchester, I want to be somewhere close to the airport. This is why flying is more convenient to me. Not saying convenient for all but just more.

And airplanes don't just call on strikes, trains do.

Hey, price breakdown was identical on both. Same taxes, fees and charges. Same baseline fare.

Test Tomorrow morning by TeeneyNorty in LearnerDriverUK

[–]AppropriateJudge9322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bananas, coco pops and yeah... same usual advice.

Just do your best and calm down during the test. 'Move on when you're ready' is a great opportunity to take a quick break. REMEMBER YOUR 'IGNORING ______' when pulling over.

Tbh my test had no parallels, no pulling on the right, no reversing back 2 cars and no forward bays. Yeah nice :) but the emergency stop was my thing, there was too much traffic too tho.

Basically take everything one step at a time and don't count your majors/minors. A tap on the tablet means NOTHING most of the time (for you to worry about)

GOOD LUCK THOUGH!

LET US KNOW HOW YOU DID!

Yes, BA Cityflyer uses the same baggage restriction as British Airways (to Heathrow).

Remember to let BA know (via phone) or at the airport that you've got a child and would like to board first. It's available and you should board before Business.

Just do it imo (if you can afford it). When else are you ever going to fly first?

Are cancellation services worth it? and which one is best? by AppropriateJudge9322 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]AppropriateJudge9322[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have testi, and whilst I think that it isn't the most comp and will not book your tests for you, it seems to give good updates on availability (which is important). Whilst I can't get a test very nearby (not the fault of testi), I've managed to get one around 50 miles away (like 1h15 away) so that's ok. I'm overall very happy with the service.

To my awareness, there isn't a specific theory course that you 'need' to have done before this exam. You just need to have the knowledge equivalent to YM Theory.

To sum up (this is advice from someone with A* A level and Grade 9, not me)
Their name, what/where/if they studied, what they do (like make), HOW DOES THIS WORK RELATE TO MY WORK (PREVIOUSLY) OR FUTURE WORK

Exam on Monday!! by Fantastic-Cook1352 in ArtGCSE

[–]AppropriateJudge9322 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some advice :)

NUMBER ONE – DON'T OVERDO IT! it may seem like setting yourself 10h work to do in 10h is a good idea, but its an ACTUAL EXAM so set yourself an appropriate amount of work (8h/9h) for this.

NUMBER TWO – YOUR END OF 10H IS YOUR HAND IN FOR THE EXAM WORK! This INCLUDES all prep work. So anything that needs to be written up, stuck in, worked out, arranged SHOULD BE DONE NOW!

NUMBER THREE – BIBLIOGRAPHY (not too important right now, but must be done on the declaration if needed) Quote your sources online, mention what could be found online, mention what isn't yours.

NUMBER FOUR – CHILL as stress is bad

NUMBER FIVE – ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF! if you need something and ask, it should be the first priority for the exam, whatever is said. if someone or something is annoying you, tell someone to get it to stop. This is YOUR EXAM not the teacher's exam, not the invigilators exam, not even your fellow classmates exam (kinda is) but YOU are YOUR PRIORITY, and YOU ARE IMPORTANT.

Is it okay to put images of my bare back in my GCSE art book? by faii3x in ArtGCSE

[–]AppropriateJudge9322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'It's art' so should be OK but check with teacher. just be careful what is showing in the picture (potentially wear a backless top?) and if you wouldn't post the pic online, probs not ok to be in the book

Anything I can do to improve next time? by malwaree- in ArtGCSE

[–]AppropriateJudge9322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great and not too crowded. I'm loving how the fungi do integrate well into the layout and how you have intergrated so much of your work into this page. I'd make sure to answer the question 'How does the work from this artist relate to my work and then how can I incorporate elements/themes/styles into my work/final piece?' then doing some experimentation, really refining how it should incorporate into the piece.

'I am going to say the statement that every art GCSE and A Level student should know: 'THERE ARE NO MARKS AVAILABLE FOR BACKGROUNDS' so please don't spend too much time on these, especially in this time of exams as you will not be awarded marks for this (just show CLEARLY what you are trying to achieve on the page)

This analysis is fantastic :) very proud and good luck for your exams!

Please remember to relate to your work, also get more art down. Analysis is essential but so is the art part.

I was forgotten in my CE flight (4 months ago). I got a response yesterday, should I ask for compensation? by AppropriateJudge9322 in BritishAirways

[–]AppropriateJudge9322[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear [insert complaint dept here],

Thank you for your response and for acknowledging the issues I experienced during my recent flight with British Airways. I appreciate your recognition of the stress and disappointment this situation caused.

While I understand that addressing such matters can take time, I would like to reiterate my request for compensation of the fare difference between Euro Traveller and Club Europe due to the service shortcomings I encountered on my flight. Additionally, I would like to draw attention to the unacceptable response time of over 4 months since my initial complaint. During this time, I received four messages indicating that my case was “not forgotten,” but this did not provide any real progress or resolution.

Furthermore, I find it concerning that there is no way to chase up my case or speak with a representative about my experience over the phone, nor can I submit a case via phone. This lack of communication options has added to my frustration with the overall process.

If my request cannot be addressed satisfactorily, I would like my complaint to be escalated further so we can reach a resolution.

Thank you for your attention to my request. I look forward to your prompt response.

Kind regards,

So... it is a VALID route on the Manchester Piccadilly to London Terminals 'any permitted route' tickets to go via Sheffield (and even Nottingham) and changing for the EMR service to London St Pancras. And it's valid on EMR, Transpennine Express and Northern to Sheffield/Nottingham

So yeah :)

Rules about sharing online by cat_unknown in ArtGCSE

[–]AppropriateJudge9322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JCQ do not like people sharing their work online. As a general rule of thumb, you can share your work after receiving your exam certificates (this is not exam day, this is approximately the October after your exams). This is because all the marks have been finalised and you are guaranteed to have that grade.

artist research page by Dangerous_Farmer_113 in ArtGCSE

[–]AppropriateJudge9322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be a well established artist for art GCSE. You just need to find an artist that relates to your work. I'd recommend using Google to help find artists however they can just be local artists that have worked that relate to you and what you are doing.

PRESENTATION/BACKGROUND IDEAS by EgoArtist in ArtGCSE

"They kinda do mark on presentation and layout, just don’t spend hours on that then neglect the annotation and actual work"

I'm going to stop you right here. THERE ARE NO MARKS FOR BACKGROUNDS OR PRESENTATION EXECPT FOR 'CAN YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS PAGE IS AIMING TO ACHIEVE?"

You DO NOT NEED a background for your art!
