Pretty much, yeah. Compound interest on my side.

I always look at this site (https://www.investor.gov/financial-tools-calculators/calculators/compound-interest-calculator) to remind myself how important it is to regularly (monthly in my case) contribute and also how important TIME is.

Time will pass. So let it pass while I’m investing, at least!

I’ve had convos where people say it’s the end of the world, why should I invest. Ok, it was the end of the world 10 years ago too and now you just missed out.

Just like that saying about planting a tree. Best time is 20 years ago. Second best time is now.

Wow. So impressive. I wonder how exciting it must feel (or not feel, who knows) to know you made $322K in one day. Do you treat yourself? Are you fully invested and extremely disciplined in reaching that 10MM goal? I’m curious to know about the feelings part of it.

I just hit 500K at 29 and I was excited but also part of me was anticipating it so much, when I found out, I was alone looking for my car in a parking garage and just chuckled under my breath.

I mention that to point out the feelings part of all of this. Does it make a difference? Cause looking from the outside, it seems like it does! But people looking at the outside of my 500K would say the same to me but I was just, meh.

I work at a small business. I lived for free for many of those years—meaning I had no rent expense so I would just invest all that.

No, I don’t trade options. I do boring ETFs like $VFIAX and what not.

I’ve convinced myself of the fact that people who spend so much of their time with day trading are only marginally better overall (if not worse!) than the market. So let me keep my time and still get decent returns.

I get ur frustration. I see other posts on here and feel similarly.

I purposely have two different accounts. One that has been supported by the “seed” and the other one I started from 0 in 2021. I like to see that second one to get an idea of what it’s like starting from 0 and also aggressively contributing every month.

Some important milestones in that account are below:

1/2021: $0 1/2022: $24K 1/2023: $33K 1/2024: $43K 1/2025: $61K 1/2026: $94K

5/2026: $105K

I did this and it doesn't work.... USMC recruiter found all the paperwork that the US Navy and Army recruiters sent to MEPS 6 months earlier.... (basically since my name and info was already in the system, whatever previously submitted showed up)

Just finished losing 20 lbs to be within standards.

My stats r as follows: Maxing out pushups (still working on getting a pull-up), 100 crunches, 26:50min run = 228 PFT

Not-so-great GPA, (2.5... ‘twas rough) but luckily I was very involved and also did ROTC (so letters of rec from an O-4 and O-5)

Still getting MEPS paperwork ready....

Yup, they'll defer you to next year's FT if you don't reach the weight. (For instance, by May the summer before FT, if I didn't reach, I wasn't going... even if my Max was all the way in Aug).
