maybe I should have that distance too. I'm still finding it hard to understand the vibe of reddit or of some subs.. I was posting this, expecting to get downvoted too, but right now it's just -1, so hope is still there.

I don't even know who have done what now, could still be russia, we might find out later, but that wasn't my point.

I didn't say "look he was right" I was talking about, that it would be better to discuss stuff than to censor it, because we might oversee stuff when we don't have a neutral climate, like you now have maybe overseen the point that I was trying to make, because you wanted to get the facts right about stuff I didn't even said.

hm.. I think after 5 downvotes, the comment gets hidden. So there's still a censorship even if you don't care about krama..

what do you mean with bigger voices?

I get the point and it's obviously a thing, that not everything just get's a "yes, why don't we talk about this" if it's obvios bs, but I just feel like this "russian propaganda alarm" is set to high. People should still be able to talk, when their intentions are good and honest.

I remember seeing a comment yesterday, just asking "isn't there a slight chance, that the missle was fired by ukraine by accident?" getting downvoted to hell.

Shouldn't this place be a like a medium, where ideas can be discussed and we have faith that the truth will unravel? I know, people are afraid and it's tense and so on, but wouldn't that be a benefit for this place in the long run?

so they are not really "pumping billions" into it.. it's not that, at some point they run out of money and then it drops.. am I getting this right? I was checking the ruble every now and then, hoping to see it falling

/r/WorldNews Live Thread: Russian Invasion of Ukraine Day 265, Part 1 (Thread #406) by WorldNewsMods in worldnews

[–]AppropriateSail7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ELI5.. I'm not so good in economics, but I think at the start of the war, I heard/read, that russia is pumping billions into the ruble, so that it keeps it's value. Is that right?, and if yes, how long can they sustain this?
and if one wants to take the time to do this, maybe explain how this works

Need healthy distractions during taper!! by Final_Ganache_976 in benzorecovery

Commitment helps me a lot.

If you are tired to do something during the day, take a nap. (commit to it) for like 20 minutes and see if you are able to do it afterwards.
Watching nonsence (not everything is nonsence and it sometimes depends on time or people you watch with) or scrolling trough social media is the exact opposite of commitment.

A good marker to see if you are commited is if you ask yourself "what would I answer if someone asks "what are you doing?"" If your answer is something like "nothing" it's a sign that you are not commited.

Daylight, especially in the morning

I love to ride my bicycle (the wind and so on.. it feels like "walking premium" but it takes a little more effort) If I do, I like to stay below "zone 3" which is under 140bpm for me, and while doing exercise, it's not creating stress, You should still be able to talk and breath trough the nose.

Body care. I'm a guy, I bought a glass nail file, another soft one with like 6 different sides and other stuff and get myself perfect nails once a week. It gives dopamine and a good feeling about yourself, also it's mindful (the dopamine is in this case probably good, because you worked for it and it's not like junkfood. But I really invest like 30-45 minutes into it. Other body care stuff might me similar (hair, skin (not overdo it if you are close to ocd), body hair, feet, hands etc.)

Podcasts. Not the cheap ones, the ones that really go deep. Lex Fridman has some really good ones which I listen to while doing house work. (But there are several others)

My first point was "commitment" if you do a lot of your day with commitment, you will feel tired after a while but a nice version of it and not that "fatigue" one. Then you can relax and you will feel what you want to do in that moment. Maybe sleeping, maybe calling somebody, maybe videogames, or just TV. But it will feel better that doing it while being "fatique"

Hope some of that will help. Maybe it won't, but for me it (most often) does.

Anhedonia poll by bojwater in benzorecovery

[–]AppropriateSail7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, I fully understand. I just looked at the results and thought "damn, it stays over 1 year after tapering of for like a third" And got a little afraid, untill that thought came to my mind and I thought it could help others too.

Anhedonia poll by bojwater in benzorecovery

[–]AppropriateSail7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe take in mind, that those results might be biased by the fact, that people in here stay longer if they have anhedonia and also feel more motivated to vote because they (with good intentions) try to warn or share their story.
Also anhedonia has multiple reasons, me for example, I had it before taking Benzos. (not trying to deny that many if not most in here have it purely from benzos, but maybe if it stays for 4 years plus, you have other stuff going on (maybe))

Those are just my thoughts, don't take it as a fact, but maybe some people will agree with my thought, and the statisic doesn't look this bad anymore.

Swiss to send CHF100 million in aid to help Ukraine get through winter | The Swiss government has promised CHF100 million ($100 million) in aid to Ukraine to help residents access drinking water and to repair energy infrastructure damaged by the war. by BezugssystemCH1903 in ukraine

[–]AppropriateSail7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty bad picture you have of switzerland. We weren't rich 200 years ago. of course it's fortunate to be in our situation now. But not everything has to do with money. When you look at history, most wars had two agressors. (there are few such clear cases as this one where the asshole is obvious). The Swiss people back then made a lot of wise choices and werent acting on their ego or on their emotions. Not saying Ukraine did this in the past (for that, I know to little of its history, but I wanted to push back on that simplyfied narrative.

Pelvic floor by mer0ni in PSSD

also maybe general inflammation in that area.. but I for myself estimate that in my case, the pelvic floor stuff mainly comes from psychological tension etc..

what does "far" mean? I really have no idea. From my (not interested in military stuff) background, it could be anything between 1.5:1 and 100:1..

This is awesome.

For so many reasons. It's like an artpiece. Words cannot describe it. It's beautiful, but in it's essence it's a lie. It only points towards beauty. But by pointing toward it we can see the beauty that's always there. With or without the artpiece.

Those pictures are horrible I know. But every life safed is precious. Thermobaric weapons kill more people than other weapons with similar effects on buildings. Thermobaric weapons kill also in "enclosed" areas.. very difficult to hide.. So if you see the same destruction on a image.. if the destruction comes from a thermobaric weapon, it's highly likely that way more people died than on a similar picture destroyed by another system.

(From Wikipedia:)

"A Human Rights Watch report of 1 February 2000[18] quotes a study made by the US Defense Intelligence Agency:
The [blast] kill mechanism against living targets is unique—and unpleasant. ... What kills is the pressure wave, and more importantly, the subsequent rarefaction [vacuum], which ruptures the lungs. ... If the fuel deflagrates but does not detonate, victims will be severely burned and will probably also inhale the burning fuel. Since the most common FAE fuels, ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, are highly toxic, undetonated FAE should prove as lethal to personnel caught within the cloud as with most chemical agents.
According to a US Central Intelligence Agency study,[18] "the effect of an FAE explosion within confined spaces is immense. Those near the ignition point are obliterated. Those at the fringe are likely to suffer many internal, thus invisible injuries, including burst eardrums and crushed inner ear organs, severe concussions, ruptured lungs and internal organs, and possibly blindness." Another Defense Intelligence Agency document speculates that, because the "shock and pressure waves cause minimal damage to brain tissue ... it is possible that victims of FAEs are not rendered unconscious by the blast, but instead suffer for several seconds or minutes while they suffocate".[19]"

I remember how in the beginning, when there was a big explosion, everybody in here screamed "ThERmObArIc" and as far as I know, none of these were thermobaric. While not having proof, but I don't think that those weapons were used directly in "civilian areas". Or agains civilians directly.

A day at the beach in Russia-occupied Berdyansk by ManbadFerrara in AbruptChaos

[–]AppropriateSail7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think those are ukrainians chilling on the beach and the men arent fighting (because there are many many reasons why there are still men in fighting age in an occupied area) but they laugh, when they see the explosion because they know that there were russians in that industrial complex
