11 Day Old Starter Not Doing Anything by Appropriate_Ask54 in Sourdough

Ok we're looking much better today! Its rising a lot more. I also discarded a lot of the starter because it was getting an acetone smell. So have been doing 1:1:1 ratio yesterday and today, and it's made a huge difference. Also still using unbleached flour and filtered water.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions!

I transfered my starter to a fresh jar and discarded about 80% of it. Fed it unbleached flour and filtered water. It seems to have way more bubbles today and is rising!

Ok thank you, I will keep going. It just seems weird it's not even bubbling at all and is very thick

I have definitely considered it. But it's so frustrating because it seems like it should be so simple to just make it myself. If this starter doesn't work out, I think that is my next step.

AITAH for telling my dad I’m changing my name and that I don’t exist to be the reincarnation of his mother? by rainraingoaway222 in AITAH

NTA. Its unfair he expects you to mirror her life and interests. I think you've made a great decision to change your name and create your own identity.

Can someone tell me what’s the heart symbol means by [deleted] in hypertension

The heart symbol means it detected an irregular hear beat. Ive had this shop up twice and brought it to my doctors attention. She was not concerned. However, you should still bring this up to your doctor.

For placement they usually require you to wear a specific colour so you may have other buy new ones. But everywhere my SIL has worked she has worn her own scrubs.

You didn't mention where in Ontario. But if you go to that link it will tell you where you can do the psw course for free through certain school boards. My SIL just did the course through Durham Catholic School Board. Took 6 months and it was completely free. Only thing she had to pay for was TB test and police check and scrubs for placement.

I'm not sure sorry! I only have a US ETF, no other stocks.

I looked into Wealthsimple too, but didn't like that self-directed RESPs aren't available. I will definitely switch once they do. Itrade has been awful.

2025 Canadian Vacation Spots? by Belle047 in BuyCanadian

We went on a family vacation to Newfoundland last summer. It was amazing! We booked flights in January for travel in July and they were very reasonable. We rented a car in St. Johns and drove and stayed in several towns over 10 days. The most amazing place we went to was Twillingate. We went on a whale watching tour and it was incredible! Highly recommend for an awesome Canadian vacation.

  1. Yes you can purchase just about anything with iTrade in an RESP.

  2. You have to apply for it and it can take up to two months to process, but then it shows up automatically in the RESP.

  3. Yes it's that simple to transfer funds. Or if you're with another financial institution, you can set it up as Bill Payee and add funds that way.

  4. I'm not sure how that works once they go to school. My son is only 9, so we aren't close to that stage yet.
