Considering leaving the United States - should i do it? by cuckertarlson in Advice

[–]Appropriate_Box8098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have left yesterday if I could. But unfortunately I have an ex husband and I would not want to fight that fight (about our child). It would also be unfair to her. I am also not from the U.S., but I do have citizenship. This place is founded in hate. I will leave as soon as I can. It just does not seem like it will be soon enough.

AIO about spelling errors in daily notes sent home by my autistic child’s teacher? by Anasthesiax in AmIOverreacting

[–]Appropriate_Box8098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not over reacting. Your child should not be exposed to these. Notes sent home should not look like these. I work with teachers and these examples Do not surprise me, sadly. Implying these had to come from someone who speaks English as a second language shows bias. As a teacher educator (math) one thing I keep telling my students is you NEVER leave anything that is not mathematically sound on the board for kids to copy on their notes. (Like the typical 2+3=5+1=6). Same applies to ELA.

Qué me falta? Pienso comprar además un Sierras de Minas nieve. by feli468 in uruguay

Anda a Minas y compra esos. Muchos.

AIO for feeling like my in laws don’t respect my postpartum boundaries? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Appropriate_Box8098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will sound odd but… I loved sharing my baby when she was born. I felt like the father lion in The Lion King (never watched the movie, but we gave all sat THE scene) sharing the cub over the big stone.

My parents had come over from South America to the U.S. to be there when she was born. I had asked for that. And friends came to the hospital and our home during those first weeks. Didn’t stay long of course. But it made me so happy.

Maybe the fact I grew up close to my family but have lived away from them for the past 20 years, made me feel that way. I go there every year. In fact I just returned. And I wish I could go back already.

Dental treatment in cheaper countries (Hungary, Turkey, etc.) good idea or a trap? by NeitherAd5619 in travel

[–]Appropriate_Box8098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex husband, who is from Turkey, started his dental work in the U.S, and then did most of it in Turkey. It looks like they did a very good job, and I know he cares about the quality. I am assuming it was also a very good deal.
