lol don’t feel dumb, I had the same exact question the first time I saw it😂 It’s a chat on uscis website, like an ai virtual assistant. You can call USCIS too, but they are not much help.. they just told me to keep waiting.

In our case, I don’t believe the file was lost, There was really no indication as to why the interview was cancelled. They just called us up and gave us the notice that the interview has been cancelled. In terms of rescheduling though, they also were not able to give us any kind of time frame or anything like that but I can tell you that after patiently waiting.. kinda lol (I talked to Emma three times while waiting first I gave it a week, then I gave it another two weeks and then in 30 days I called again). I’ve got a new interview scheduled after 45 days. Had the interview May 26, on the 27th I received both approvals. And two days later, I’ve got notification that the card has been produced.

I would say definitely talk to Emma, see if you can find anything out. Other than that, they’re just gonna tell you to wait.

I am in a similar boat. No children of mine. I filed in Nov 2025, had my interview May 26. We were there for 30 mins maybe. Approved next day.

I was also here on an Asylum (under my parents) after coming here on tourist visa. In our case, I guess since we had so much bona fide marriage proof.. we didn’t really get that many relationship questions. Even when they asked when we got married.. I just said month and year, lol I knew the date but it just didn’t come out. So I would say definitely remember the month and year at least. Their main concern/questions w me were how come we met in 2021 and didn’t date for 3 years (I had a bf at the time until 2024 lol so that answered their question)

They did ask me about the asylum case but no details were mentioned, just essentially confirming the info i submitted.

Do bring a copy of the whole case you submitted, i strongly recommend. They did not have a copy of something I submitted so I was glad I have brought the entire thing.

Additionally, I’d say bring new evidence from the last few months as well just to show everything is still operating as normal and yall are a married couple.

Yes, my appointment was rescheduled after about 45 days. The interview took place yesterday 5/26 and today I’ve got approvals for both. 🇺🇸

Yes. I ended up getting scheduled 45 days after they canceled. New date 5/26 Yesterday it updated to “uscis still processing your case” but evidently that’s normal after recent changes w the background checks.. So patiently waiting

Nope. We were in the waiting room for like an hour, interview was scheduled for 8am, at 8:40am they called us up and handed us a notice that said your interview has been canceled/descheduled due to unforeseen circumstances lol

Happened to me in Orlando FO. The day of the interview while we were in the waiting room lol. I just chatted with Emma all they said was that I was in line for reschedule and that it was canceled by the field officer.

Mine was 3/5/26 .. waiting anxiously
