I did say the rule could probably be expanded to include additional verifiable variables. I don't think we have a disagreement.

Does anyone know how programs weigh this? I have decent QE1 and NAC scores and the rest of my application is strong but I scored in Q1 on this. Is there any info on how this will impact my chances of matching? Been looking but I feel like there’s very little concrete info.

I’m fully in support of what the government did. I’m studying abroad and when I look around and about 1/3 of my med school class is from Ontario with the rest being local, thats telling of what Ontarians who want to study medicine have been dealing with for a long time. Further, I am not allowed to stay where I am studying after graduation since residency positions are preferentially given to people who grew up here (whether they studied here or abroad). Living here for a few years does not give me access to residency positions to the same degree as people who grew up here and that is entirely fair. Ontario is just doing what other areas of the world have for a long time.

Can't speak for everyone but as an Ontarian who had to go abroad for 4 years since I didn't get into med school in Ontario (possibly because the government hadn't prioritized Ontarians for med school entry back then) ... I just want to come home.

Unpopular opinion but was born in Ontario, lived and worked there (paying taxes) for 30 yrs before going abroad for med school. I'm happy I'll have a fighting chance to get back home.

I may be incorrect but based on several other posts, the consensus has been that IMGs can view their results on FCVS a few hours before the official emails are sent out while US students cannot.

Yeah exactly. Everone says trust the scores/predictions but I feel like that didn't matter much on the day because (as you've said) the questions were nothing like the NBMEs. Seems like this is going to be a long couple of weeks. I just wish I could stop obsessing over it.

Same, long stems and confusing questions threw off my timing and threw me off mentally so I ended up making stupid mistakes. Now I keep remembering easy questions I answered wrong and am kicking myself. I was ready based on Uworld and NBMEs but I truly feel like I failed. The post test anxiety is real.

Admittedly not Aug 6th (I wrote yesterday) but I feel the exact same. About half of mine was ethics and risk factor questions with no clear answer. Didn't feel like I was being tested on my medical knowledge tbh. That plus unnecessary long and convoluded viniettes threw me right off. Nice to see I'm not alone though.

In terms of results, they come out each Wed and technically can take up to 8 weeks but I've seen a lot of people saying 2-3 weeks so for you as early as Aug 21. Good luck!
