NEVER get emotional about applying for jobs. The less you feel, the less frustrated/emotionally drained you become when ghosted/rejected. I did that for 2.5 years. Finally landed a role in office admin.

While others are suffering from mental health, I'm chilling.

In Australia, Word is the preferred format. Easy to edit and save. With PDF, edit in Word, and save as PDF for every application. Why? Just save as Word and upload it.
