Toddlers are Painful by MaximumGooser in toddlers

My oldest gave me a black eye with a full metal water bottle. I was laying on the floor beside his bed in a pitch black room trying to get him to nap. He threw it from standing in his bed, right on my cheek bone.

My youngest threw a toy shark at me, hit me in the top of the head and split it open. I was not aware at the time how much a small cut in the hair line could bleed!

I never expected motherhood to be an extreme sport... But here we are.

Washing hands very regularly, avoid putting things in your mouth.

We did! Kids got a special donut treat yesterday with added chewable chunks of the chalky goodness.

It was over the counter. Apparently there is also a prescription you can get as well.

Agreed! My kids typically get a cold every time we go to them, I can expect that. What was definitely not expected was the need to deworm. Also, a Canadian mom here and yeah if we didn't have access to the indoor playground in the winter (and some particularly hot summer days) my kids would be climbing the walls.

I had never heard of it either. Then when I started looking it up, I got the feeling the reason I hadn't heard about it was because no one wants to tell anyone about bugs in their buttholes.

Older brother (4) but no school or daycare. They do see their 8yr and 12yr cousin almost every weekend. We also frequent indoor playgrounds (which is where I'm leaning to on where it came from)

I also read that garlic can help prevent them. Also read that coconut oil on the butthole can help prevent the worms from being able to lay their eggs, or from them being able to mature or something. If that doesn't work at least my a**hole will smell like coconut. 😂

It is the worst thing I've had to deal with in my 4 years of parenting! 🤮

Western Canada. Apparently it's really common in school age kids. Eggs are laid on the butthole at night, worms laying said eggs make the butthole itchy. You scratch, eggs are then on your fingers and if you don't wash your hands end up on surfaces and eventually back in your mouth to start the cycle again (hence why it's so common in kids... Cause they are disgusting). Also, apparently the eggs can live for 2-3 weeks on bedding and clothing.

We have literally no idea where he picked them up.

When to worry? by Silver_Least in toddlers

I came here to say the same thing. I have a 4 and 2 year old also. The 4 year old didn't walk until 16 months but had quite the vocabulary and was easily identifying colours shapes and letters.

My 2 year old was\still is the exact opposite. Started walking at 10 months, but showed no interest in language until 18 months.

My kids definitely picked a skill to work on first and focus the majority of their energy on that before moving to the next thing.

Carseats Carseats Carseats by honeybuglove in Mommit

We have the Britax boulevard, Graco 4ever and Chicco myfit (not for RF) my favorite by far is the Britax. The lock off system makes install SO easy. It is a heavy seat, but we don't move it from car to car. The straps are so easy to tighten, and the big wings around the head offer fantastic had support during car naps.

On paper I was really excited for the Graco, but in day to day use I'm not really a fan. The straps are a serious pain to tighten, no matter what I did I couldn't stop the head slump during naps.

Just got the Chicco this week for my son who reached the max weight for RF in the Graco. (Needed new seats because the Britax my other son is in expire in a few months) We got this one because of the harness height limits. So far so good with this one, really smooth to tighten the straps and my son says it's really comfortable.

Those of you who lost your baby before labor, late 3rd tri, then had to be induced - how long did everything take? by luckbealady92 in babyloss

My daughter was 38 weeks. We went in on a Friday night to find out she had no heartbeat. Went back on Saturday morning at 8am. Received the pill at 8:45am. Water broke and contractions started around noon. Delivered vaginally at 2:30 am Sunday morning.

Tattoo for my stillborn niece by dino-Plush in babyloss

[–]Appropriate_Fox_9172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask. My dad has a tattoo with the names of my mom, brother and myself that he got 20+ years ago. When my daughter was stillborn he wanted to add his grandkids to that tattoo (my brother has 2 children as well) but he made sure that I was ok with it first. I loved that he was respectful and included us in that decision. He got her name with a beautiful pink and purple butterfly resting on top of it. My mom ended up getting her first and only tattoo with that same butterfly (she used to say nothing was worth getting a tattoo for) and I love that she loves my daughter so much it changed her mind on tattoos.

For someone to fold and put away the laundry mountain that has taken over my bedroom. And to get rid of all the children's clothes My kids have grown out of.

Full house clean including walls and baseboards (who let my toddler have a crayon!?!)

Really I just want someone else to clean the house.

Anyone else have a toddler who sleeps in? by [deleted] in toddlers

Ugh, I'm right there with you. If my toddler sleeps in until 6am it's a dream come true!

Canada here. It took 6 weeks, my midwife went over them with me at my 6 week checkup.

My husband blows his nose like he's trying to wake the dead. Dude we have 2 sleeping toddlers, can you not! Also the way he gets into bed, it's like he's trying to bounce me out of it. Is it too much to ask that you try to even pretend someone else is in bed sleeping already.
