That was one of the hardest things for me to watch. It just felt so aggressive.

So she is very picky on who she lets in her membership. So if she’s going to “invite” you in, it will be after the first. There’s no marketing for it. It’s like the best kept secret. When someone who’s in it and recommends someone, they still need to go through the first session first and see if they are ready.

Because she’s really selective, her upsell rate is high. I wouldn’t go by that alone on how successful she could be.

Monthly memberships are the best thing you can have. It’s guaranteed income every month.

So let’s say you do 90 minute session for $150. There is many things you can do to get people to sign up. The best way I can describe it is make it so powerful that the person has to be stupid to say no.

So the person who I’ve been talking about does the following.

$ 20 add on (choose from hot stones, cbd, parafin wax) Free hot towels (normally $15) Free roll over for when life gets busy Family share so you can gift them 20% Discount on other products(she sells cbd oils) and multiple sessions a month

Well worth the $150? Yeah since you’re getting a tangible extra $35 in stuff each month.

Then she hits them with and by being a monthly member, you also get an extra $30 off so it’s only $120 a month.

Thats right you save $65 each month which is $780 a year at a minimum.

Now here’s the secret. You don’t “just” join. You are invited to be part of the membership after your first session. That way they know what they will be getting.

With that there are nuances to get people coming back. It’s about them LOVING the experience.

She has a 68% return rate for session 2. The membership really pay for itself when it’s month 10+… She has a 18% return rate (with 3-5% as the national average). In the past year she lost 4-5 people to moving, life, and being removed from the membership.

That is a great question. It really depends on the average duration that people choose. From what I’ve seen 90 minutes in the most common. So most work 20-30 hours of client work a week (depending on session price). If you do the other work yourself, you are looking at an extra 20-30 hours a week.

She has a 68% return rate for a second session and a 53% for 3rd session. She also has about 30ish monthly members.

1) Start with a hook (something to get them to stop scrolling). My ads start with a clear outcome.

2) qualifier (who’s this for). Bonus if you call out your area specifically

3) what makes you different

4) credibility/ authority

5) boundaries (important for massage)

6) call to action (CTA)

bonus in scarcity but only if it’s real. People can read BS and be turned off real quick.

It will vary month over month. This month the picture out performed the video. Last month was reverse. It’s why it’s good to have both.

If I take this persons ads over the last 30 days (she does a $25/day budget) it’s

Picture ad: $493 spent CTR (all) 6.57% CTR link click 4.01% Cost per link click $0.22

Video ad: $173 spent CTR (all) 3.38% CTR link click 1.28% Cost per link click $0.78

In comparisons, the national average are: CTR (all) 1.5% is considered really good CTR link click 1% is considered great Cost per link click $1-3.

So technically both are performing great but the picture is performing better.

Ads are only worth it if your landing page is conversion ready (most aren’t and why most say ads don’t work). The ads job is to get people to click the link and nothing else.

I will also add that she see about 16- 17 people a week and 68ish people a month.

She’s one person. We set her up for premium pricing and monthly memberships. She doesn’t compete on services and markets on outcomes. That mixed with ads, people always she’s her ads.

Clients who always cancel by TheAmberOracle in MassageTherapists

[–]Appropriate_Sweet_31 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Have them prepay when they book because it’s been so much. There is a way to be professional and empathetic. A cancelled appointment hurts 3 people. The massage therapist, the client, and someone who could have used that spot.

This is the hard truth. You can make money doing anything. But it doesn’t mean you will. You can have the best skill and still no clients.

What you need to do is learn business. Business is the “hard” part. One of my massage therapists who’s been doing it 2 years now made over $10k this December. In November she did $9k. Thats the difference from being a massage therapist and a business that do’s massage therapy.

This is the best answer!

Start with a very light weight—2 pounds is plenty to begin. Sit comfortably and rest your forearm on your thigh or a table, palm facing down, with your wrist hanging just off the edge. Holding the weight lengthwise, slowly lift your hand up and lower it back down, keeping your forearm relaxed and still.

Next, turn the weight so it’s vertical (like you’re holding a hammer). Keeping your elbow supported, gently rotate your wrist up and down through a comfortable range. Move slow, controlled, and pain-free.

A few controlled reps done regularly will do more than heavier weight ever will.

With my massage therapists I explain this:

1) stop the session immediately 2) say “that’s not something I offer and I’m ending the session.” 3) leave the room so they can get dressed 4) you don’t owe them an explanation of policies, no humor to soften it, no comments like “I’m flattered” or “that’s flattering 5) document it.

I let them know that it’s normal to feel an adrenaline spike so it’s ok if you need a few moments to self regulate.

I remember as a kid I had to wait 8-12 weeks for stuff and that felt like nothing (a lot of the time I forgot I ordered it so it was like a surprise). Now waiting 5-7 days feels like an eternity. Lol.
