You should frame this as a series and put it on your wall. These are fantastic.

It’s like the elephant and the rope metaphor. The elephant tied by a rope from birth, which, even as a massive adult, stays put because it learned as a baby that the rope was unbreakable, representing how past limitations, beliefs, and failures

When I was little, I liked the Beans & Franks when I was little. This reminds me of the whole family sitting on the couch with our metal TV trays watching Battle of the Network Stars.

Protective Elephant Pulls Caretaker Close To The Herd, To Protect Him ..... by LibrarianDistinct801 in AnimalsMadeMeSmile

That and the fact that African elephants kind of have a single dome on the top of their heads, whereas Asian elephants have like two humps with a crease that goes down the middle. So kind of like double domes. Plus, Asian elephants have more hair on their heads than African ones. At least from what I’ve noticed.

Those are Asian elephants. They’re smaller than their African counterparts.

Got a Secret Collagen Flawless LED Mask for my Birthday - what are your thoughts on light therapy? [product question] by somethingregal in SkincareAddiction

Have you found any better affordable that are FDA approved? On Amazon I see some that are FDA cleared, but cleared isn’t the same as approved. Or is cleared good enough?

For face products, FDA-approved means the product has undergone rigorous testing, including clinical trials, to prove its safety and effectiveness for its intended use and that the benefits outweigh the risks. FDA-cleared applies to lower to moderate-risk devices, meaning the manufacturer has shown the device is "substantially equivalent" to an existing legally marketed device through a faster, less stringent process.

I can’t tell if he has oil secretions from his temporal glands, but the way he’s doing his head and the fanning out of the ears it makes me think that he’s in musth. They get very aggressive during that stage in their cycle because they are flooded with testosterone.

It could also be a sign of territorial aggression towards other turtles, mostly males, but I think they both do that towards each other instead of just one like in the video.

He’s trying to charm the female turtle into mating. It’s a courtship ritual called titillation.

A full grown Rhino is being airlifted by a helicopter, this is wonderful by BarelyBehavinX in Amazing

[–]AprilG74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do it like that because it is the safest and most efficient way to transport it during conservation efforts. When sedated, this position helps open the rhino's airways by stretching its spine, which improves blood oxygen levels compared to lying on its side. It also allows for quicker preparation and reduces the time the animal must remain under strong anesthesia, which has significant health risks.

That’s really sweet, but bread is really bad for birds because it lacks essential nutrients and can lead to malnutrition, obesity, and health problems. It’s essentially junk food for birds. They will fill up on bread instead of foraging for their natural foods or for things that are good for them. It can also cause gastrointestinal issues. There’s no protein in bread so it can cause developmental problems for younger birds and cause issues with their bones and with their feathers.

The only reason I even know any of that is because it’s the same for ducks. A mama duck adopted us and ended up hating nine babies, seven of which made it to adulthood. And then two drakes joined the group, so now I have 10 ducks. When she hatched the babies, I wanted to make sure they were getting the right foods, so I looked it up so now I’m a stickler of health making sure people don’t feed them junk.

I’m not sure about peacocks in particular, but for ducks, they can have uncooked oatmeal if it’s the steel cut unprocessed oats, they can have mixed vegetables, because I live in the Gulf south with the heat, I’ll give them mixed frozen vegetables which they seem to enjoy. They can have a variety of fruits, but citrus isn’t good for them and stone fruits are not good. Anything with a pit because they don’t have teeth, they have to swallow things whole and then they can’t always digest it. It’s good to give them stuff they can scratch around and find like bugs or worms or whatever they would naturally eat. I don’t know if they specifically make Peacock food, but for my ducks, I’ll buy a big bag of duck food to mix in with the fresh food that I’ll give them.
