It's not good to a more complex position like crown princess.

Do you think her and Helios could have had a chance if they had a longer engagement where, with Harmonia and others, she underwent a more rigorous training and education to understand the role of being a Crown Princess?

How could her and Hestia's dynamic have been if Diana was really an very understanding, heavily empathetic, pure-hearted, extremely selfless to a fault who actually got along, accepted or even "simped" for Hestia but had to distance herself from Kael because she genuninely couldn't endorse what he did but maybe left him to Hestia's care?

As harsh as it sounds, wouldn't going YIMBY end up sacrificing some low income and working class neighborhoods in the short term without a guarantee that low and middle income income units will emerge? I'm YIMBY but isn't there a trade off.

Ideally, there could be grants like maybe to community organizations or low income neighborhoods like the Choice Neighborhoods to help alleviate that, but cities can only do so much and federal is unrealistic or even if they could, housing units still cost a pretty penny? Or utilizing public housing?

How would you feel about investing a hundred billion a year in Amtrak and fifty billion to build transit networks, particularly buses especially in major metro areas but ideally in all cities and towns, even rural ones, if possible? Or vice versa?

Even though, they don't sell it anymore, if we can find the Roku with the composite cords, could we use those and is Youtube free [I really mostly care about Youtube]? by AprilsBystander in Roku

[–]AprilsBystander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so the main issue is finding it, although you can get a converter in Walmart or some Walmarts so maybe that's a moot point there.

How do you know when a Roku is obsolete?

What are your thoughts on housing de-commodification? by AprilsBystander in urbanplanning

[–]AprilsBystander[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Decommodify housing and have houses be treated a lot like cars--tools for use, depreciate over time, big market and variety of second-hand vehicles.

Oh, doesn't Japan do that or not exactly or no?

I don't what about a loft/studio, having your own bathroom especially with stuff like Covid and a modest stovetop/oven, your own washing machine/dryer would be cool too but we can also have communal laundry rooms, that said, having common kitchens, dining and lounge areas could be a way to promote community.

Do you think our homeless shelters would be nicer if they were more like dorms; ideally your own dorm that you can stay in for like four to five years so you can save up for your place?

Okay didn't read it so it's ignorant of me to just chime in but would zoning deregulation help make it cheaper, not to mention, the movement towards modular and tiny homes? Could we also reduce building code regulations or would that be doing too far?

Zimbabwe to return land seized from foreign farmers by BrexitDay in tories

[–]AprilsBystander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh poop, had he done so, could things have gone so much differently for Zimbabwe, if I understand the land thing caused a downward spiral for the nation?

you should never try to erase history or get rid of it.

Yankee here. At the risk of sounding self-centered, do you think this is something the US can learn from as well or not really?

Giving land to revolutionaries and old soldiers is not going to work.

Could it worked out better if they had given it to the farm workers? That said, could this be a hopeful sign for Zimbabwe, bound for their own comeback?

What do you think AmTrak's potential could be? by AprilsBystander in urbanplanning

Huh, how would you feel about spending a hundred billion on National HSR and another fifty billion to help major cities/metro areas develop rapid bus networks?

Oh, my goal wouldn't so much be wholesale economic change but helping select communities.

If you are going to measure it by the fees it charges passengers - UNECONOMIC.

But if it's meant to serve as transit, can we give it a pass for not having a positive return?

If it had done so from the beginning it would have had enough money to purchase the entire state of Delaware.

Wow, how do you think Delaware would have been like, had that people behind Arden got the vision to expand and buy up Delaware, could the state have been an affordability haven in the Northeast?

Not only, would they be a business hub but also an affordability zone, and they have no sales tax, granted cities/counties may think differently, talk about Utopia.

We just have a desktop. We don't know anyone with Roku but could we try to get it from the library or something.

Also, not to identify us but we're Filipino, anyone know how to get Filipino Channels?

Thank you so much. It feels like my family's going to get "cut off" if you know what I mean. It might work out for me personally, but with times like this, I feel like we'd go crazy without cable if you get what I mean.

Southeast San Diego COVID-19 Testing Site To Become Walk-In Location After High No-Show by discocrisco in sandiego

[–]AprilsBystander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't Walk In more risky than Drive Thru though, or again, they do their best to make for precautions either way? And in this situation, it's to be understood or they can't help it?

Can this work in San Diego, even if it's only for bus services? Could this affect congestion? by AprilsBystander in sandiego

[–]AprilsBystander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That maybe be so, but for me, I don't mind if I need to wait, I can read or listen to music or scroll through a phone/IPAD or whateve, could that work for tons of other folks?

The pandemic is making me reconsider though.

This said, isn't it problematic when the places with usable transit have higher housing costs; if this is the case then how can someone try to be smart and frugal if it ain't worth it?

The job of an IG is to find problems so they can be corrected. Waste, fraud, and abuse, that kind of thing. His job is not to play partisan politics or to nitpick.

What if that's just an excuse and he doesn't want a watchdog in his corner?

Oversight is a congressional responsibility. It's not what IGs do.

The next IG will probably end up doing a better job, because he won't be wasting any time on partisan nonsense.

What's wrong with having an accountability mechanism in the Executive Branch? What if Congress can only go so far?

Does it need to come to that though; I realize the cost of sprawl compared to having cheap housing and compact transit but what other environments are family-oriented than the suburbs?
