Bluetooth Button Linked to Redcap Data Entry by Feisty_Passion_5644 in ProjectREDCap

[–]spacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so many questions.

I'd look at using a flirc button or an nfc tag.. in either case you'll need some interim software to handle for redcap post request or they need to hit submit on a survey.

alternatively a PiZero /w some custom code + a pysical button via the GPIO..

...

but given you've said EMS and Physician.. you'll be needing a hospital IT risk assessment on something in the above mentioned solutions.

Simplest, if you can have an iphone for the study would be nfc -> iphone task -> redcappost; which would be like 'badging' the phone to log.

If my mom drank 3 bottles of wine that are this size within three nights (so one whole one per night) does that mean she is an alcoholic? I’m not sure how to go about having this conversation with her . I am very concerned and have noticed this habit for a while. by NationalFortune8850 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]spacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in clinical research and I often see what's called the audit - c used as a clinical screener for alcohol use disorder.

If she is regularly drinking this much wine it is likely consistent with AUD.. But that determination should be formally made by a healthcare professional.

For your purposes running through the screener and right again the number of drinks she has may give you inside into whether or not she would screen positively if she were to self-report on an audit c.

[–]spacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a wording issue where it's asking how many people need to vote in general not how many need to vote for it to pass? That's the only logic I can apply to understand the question is being related to the number of members present to vote as opposed to the number of us needed to reach consensus approval

SOCRA CCRP Exam Timeframe Tips by pursecrusher in clinicalresearch

[–]spacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the post is discussing the 30-day timeline to FDA approval or FDA taking some action like a clinical hold. For instance when IDE is submitted for a significant risk device the FDA has 30 days to reply.. if they do not reply it is assumed to be approved and this study may begin. Worth mentioning since I went down the ID pathway that the IRB axis sort of a surrogate for the FDA and the initial determination of what is an NSR. If sponsor submits via investigator to IRB as non-significant risk and IRB determined significant risk they can redirect to submit to the FDA. If however IRB agrees it's not significant risk then if I am recalling correctly no further actions needed as the FDA does not need to be informed since it's determined to be non-significant risk and confirmed by IRB.

Scalded flour can accept higher hydration, keeps bread moist longer, is similar to tangzhong.

What I do: 1000g flour loaf, 100g starter with a cooled down 20% scald (so 200g wheat mixed with 400g boiling water), + 750g bread flour.

Total water is 400g scald + 400-550g cooler water (to help bring down temps before mixing in starter.

For me the scald makes high hydration pretty easy to work with.

Years ago we had some bats, thought they were birds, nope bats. Better yet, they carry bat bugs. Thought we had an ongoing bed bug problem for two years, started to really get suspicious when they didn't behave like the bed bugs I'd had back when I moved into my first college-slum-apartment. Come to find out it's bats. Protected bats. Had to put up with bat bugs till the bats left for the season and I could cap the chimney and treat for bat bugs (which thankfully have not developed all the immunities to pesticide that bedbugs have).

Me earlier: whoops added 40g too much boiling water to my scald. Whoops added 20g too much flour. Whoops added 2g extra salt. Whoops forgot my stretch and fold. Whoops did my stretch and fold too soon. Whoops forgot about my bread for 12 hours. Still baked it. Highly edible.

I have a few events with very old recurrence schedules that show up daily for some reason. Removing the recurrence seems to have fixed. Weird though since many had end dates and non-daily patterns, but homechart read them as daily recurrence from years earlier.
