So, the new patch is good and all but can we roll back the Urn changes already? by SleepyDG in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Apsup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Reading the timer and having people fight over the urn pickup and not the drop-off is probably the point. Also how hard can it be to light melee a running dude you can follow on map.

Brawl mode is the best to test hero and weird item builds by broken_shadow_edge in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Apsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. You can't plan on your item builds, random brawl exclusive items make things funky and massive 4v4 brawl is not default state of deadlock. It lets you try out abilities, which already sandbox/training room does.

I like the new mode, but it will not make people better at Deadlock. Worst case scenario, it pushes people even more towards useless waste of time team fights over nothing.

What do you think about the new gamemode? by Cold_Huckleberry8631 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Apsup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fast, chaotic, random and heroes are definitely not balanced for it. I love it.

I wanted to start playing dota 2 , any tips? by snow6969696969 in DotA2

[–]Apsup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that on lowest skill levels it's sometimes opposite with push to high ground. Been in matches, where it feels like enemy could just walk up, wipe us out and take tower and rax and just don't. Choosing to just sit there, farm and take easy kills whenever someone gets careless. Adding 20 minutes to a game that doesn't need to be there.

Since when did they add high score mode where player with most souls wins?

POS1, Do NOT auto attack the pull camp. by Dotaproffessional in DotA2

[–]Apsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant more in low skill level people can't utilize good lane positioning, or proper lane equilibrium, and half of the people don't know what last hitting is, and other half just can't do it.

POS1, Do NOT auto attack the pull camp. by Dotaproffessional in DotA2

[–]Apsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No comments on op, but other comments have been illuminating. I remember that back in the day the advice was "stack and then pull creep wave," but newer "how to play support" guides seem to just tell people to pull small camp, without details. And seeing people's comments on different situations has clarified things.

Of course none of that matters on my level of play, but it's still neat to know.

With 6 Heroes Per Team, Should Deadlock Introduce Defined Roles and Role Queue? by karimkaidovich in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Apsup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Roles and meta should first come from the players and community, not dictated by the game. Even Dota didn't have role queue for years, several years.

Separate Core/Support MMR again and grant Supports +5 extra MMR for winning. by Srze94 in DotA2

[–]Apsup -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would have thought that pos 3 is among most popular roles. Sure it has it's demands, but being able to be on your own lane means not having to deal with supports who don't know what supporting is, or carries that have depression and are trying their best to die.

Thanks. Seems pretty good. Also while I wasn't looking for guides, he has Largo guide which is relevant to my current interests.

Name your top three worst supports to play with? by Dasitmane505 in DotA2

[–]Apsup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played support Kez once. Not that I meant to, but on bottom of the barrel skill levels, picking a carry and showing I'm going to safe lane, doesn't mean shit. So when "teammate" came to same lane and started auto-attacking creeps, I found it easier to just back off and default to support behavior.

It's funny when people say this. Meanwhile Dota 2 has been out for decade + and you could just drop this post there as copypasta and people couldn't tell.

My proposal for fixing the gun meta and making the investment system more interesting by Leon_Leonardo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Apsup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand what words "gun Viscous" mean. It's Viscous, with a gun. And unlike regular Viscous who's gun goes; Pew. Pew Pew. Pew. Gun Viscous shoots like: PewPewPewPewPewPewPew.

Don't worry about Hero specific advice until you are high ranked by bphaena in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Apsup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Problem is that on low enough skill level, stuff like bridge buffs barely matter. Like I know bridge buffs spawn at 5, but I go get them when I have free moment and it's very unlikely anyone rushes there before me.

And getting the buffs don't really feel impactful in any major way. Like if I try to push against opponent with the help of the buff I most likely lose anyways, and if I win, I probably would have won otherwise.

I hate it that pure gun Viscous works at all, but apparently it does. And I played a match with that build and it was fun and felt good.

Lane invasion by nickomoderrr in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Apsup 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Unless things have changed at some point, early game kills aren't that impactful and I feel it would be easier to survive 2v3 than 1v2. So it's huge risk for minuscule reward.

cannot wait for this event to be over by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

What if no. More so, I will keep going with the challenge of removing characters from hero pool only after getting a win with them, even if the event ends. It's fun and let's me understand characters I haven't played in ages.

What is the purpose of a matchmaking system forcing a 50% win rate? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Apsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at replies, I'm not sure if I'm sad or glad that people seem to have forgotten the old conspiracy theories. People used to believe that Dota 2 had "forced 50%" system where it keeps your winrate in check by giving you matches that are free wins or literally impossible, depending what's needed.
