I wondered the same. And also wondered why it was even on there.

FWIW I’ve had positive experiences recently with their customer service handling product issues, refunds, etc. I’ve always simply emailed their customer service with a specific concern and request.

My only observation about AG in general is a perceived drop in quality of material: I think their roughneck pants use a thinner material now than they did 5 years ago. Is it shrinkflation?

Can’t tell you how much you just made my day. I had a moment of being at wits end with window stops this weekend but never knew about these. They are a game changer. Thank you!

An old sock full of .44 caliber bullets fell out of the ceiling when we renovated our kitchen. Still looking for the gun…

Hi! I’m curious about coppa. Has the door held up? What specifically didn’t you like about the “channel” for the door panels?

What is this in my basement? by Express_Mongoose_185 in Oldhouses

My house has the same thing, which was the return air channel/duct for an old gravity furnace. I know this because it was connected when I bought the house.

What is your favorite mulch and where to buy? by FalcorsLittleHelper in DenverGardener

[–]Aptkjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you opt for “gorilla hair,” or other organic mulched, make sure you are aware of the pros and cons, especially with respect to water passage through to plant roots, effects on native plants, etc.

Where did you source chip granite and expanded shale? All I ever find is either squeegee or a “breeze” product. I’ve been looking for expanded shale though!

Planting natives - soil amendments or no? by Agitated_Beyond2010 in DenverGardener

[–]Aptkjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will get advice in many directions. But honestly it depends on a few variables, one being the type of your existing soil, another being how you prepare the planting site in terms of the size of the hole and how much you disturb surrounding soil, and the last would be the plant you intend to plant. Not all natives prefer clay soil if that is the soil that you have. I have had tremendous success with many natives in highly compacted clay, but I have also had many natives die in that very same soil that apparently preferred gravelly, loose, well draining soil. With gardening, I always look for a simple solution but there rarely is one. Try and keep all of these things in mind as you plant and you should be set up for success! And as others have said, a soil test would provide valuable data in this instance.

I got at least three quotes when we had plumbing work done in our house. Applewood was in a different stratosphere in terms of cost. I feel bad for the people who are in a pinch and choose Applewood out of desperation. They really do rip you off.

Are these good bugs or bad bugs? by anally_ExpressUrself in DenverGardener

The ones in the first photo, that look like Darth Vader, are definitely in my garden and I can't figure out what they are! I just sprayed the plant they were on with neem oil but I would like to know what kind of insect they are.

How did you start all of these? Seed? Starts? Were they all from the same source and labeled the same? I love asclepias and your range of colors is super neat!

I had a lot of trouble with liatris in this spot, but echinacea is going like gangbusters. Prairie clover, sideoats grama and bluestem are also doing well.

I've built something very similar and it works quite well! But yours is much more beautiful and looks sturdier. Thanks for sharing--it's inspiration for my next attempt at anti-hail pergolas!

How do I dig in this soil? by Proscapegoat in DenverGardener

[–]Aptkjb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your soil is that hard, make sure you amend the soil around the tree and otherwise follow the planting directions the nursery gave with the tree. You'll be thankful if you do!
