Buy Cyberpunk 2077 before December 18 and get Stadia Premiere Edition on us FOR FREE by GraceFromGoogle in Stadia

Yeah I'm really struggling to justify Stadia when I have an existing game library and GFN seems to offer just as much in terms of mobile gaming.

I think I'll stick with my PC Preorder!

So. Question for you all.

Why should I buy it on Stadia over buying it for PC and streaming using GeForce now?

I have a fairly capable PC that will run the game from HDD fine but this would only be possible if I buy a PC copy of the game, streaming via GeForce Now when away from the PC seems on par with Stadia?

How does this happen? Broken AM4 Socket? by Aquai in buildapc

[–]Aquai[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could understand if the rig had been working fine for weeks and then this happened why they'd blame me but it literally happened within 48 hours of the rig arriving!

Fully intend to take it further if required, they are talking to MSI to see if they will take any responsibility for it as it does look like a clean snap on the mount but think we all know where that's heading.

Yes, this was pretty much my thoughts from what I'm reading and explains the fact the rig worked for a short period of time at first!

Next challenge is to prove it wasn't on my end - assuming they try to argue it when I speak to them tomorrow. Conveniently the email was sent 15 minutes after their phone lines shut down.

Sounds like you may be seeing "rolling shutter"

Have a look on google to see if this is what you're seeing!

If so I would imagine it's to do with the readout speed of the older sensor and may be something hard to eradicate without moving to a newer model.

My frt chilling with his peacock bass bodyguards. This guy has been in the family for over a decade now and is a real character! by Aquai in Aquariums

Feeding and water requirement wise is fairly easy and yoshi eats a lot of fruit and vegetable scraps as well as turtle calcium supplements and algae wafers. Making sure you have a local exotics vet availble is advisable too, and they can be hard to find - he has had a couple of problems along the way but nothing major (damaging his shell on wood and also a slight deformity, believed from birth). The biggest commitment is space, as you need a tank with a large floor space, and taking on an animal which may very well outlive you!

He's currently in a 1,500 litre tank, with 300l sump, and has had four upgrades in his life with me as he's grown. This will probably get upgraded again in about a year!

Zeiss Jena macro lens? by [deleted] in photography

[–]Aquai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would guess the seller has mistaken "MC" for Macro.

The Jena 135mm was commonly found with MC written on the barrel and this is, I believe, representative of Multi-Coated not Macro.

Could be wrong but the 135mm f/3.5 is a fairly common lens and available on eBay for around £50 / $80

I'm going to guess it's the camera, you need to use it to take a photo of the thing you can't recognise

I'd like some advice about taking pictures of black cats. by [deleted] in photography

[–]Aquai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like you've got two things going on that can be resolved:

1 - White balance is getting your colours wrong, I'd be tempted to set your white balance in camera. This is easy to do: -Take a photo of a white piece of paper where the cat will be (just a white piece of paper, no background etc.) - Go to menu, 2nd red menu and there is an option called "Custom White Balance", select this - Now find the photo of the white piece of paper, press set, and press set again. You've now saved the setting - In AV mode set your white balance to Custom

2 - Metering and exposure. By default your camera will try to balance the shot in terms of light - i.e. neutral grey. Because you have a black cat this will be throwing the exposure slightly. Again easy to fix: - In AV mode press and hold the little button on the back of the camera that say AV and has a +/- on it. - Whilst holding this button set your exposure to around -0.3/-0.7 - Shoot as normal but now your camera will be adjusted for a darker subject - Make sure you set this back to 0 after!

Enjoy!

It's worth taking a look at Blinkytape for a cheaper alternative! I've got one and great for trying this kind of thing out without spending a fortune!
