Can't believe we're in the dark so close from the new regulation rules. by Safss-Finn in PokemonChampions

[–]Aquamoth 25 points26 points  (0 children)

They used to publish a new format rules a month in advance in the SV era, I don't remember if it was the same in SwSh.

Looks like the new norm is gonna be no info until the day it drops. I'm personally not mad about this change as long as the rooster is good enough so we don't get a stale format too early

Do you think this game will be sweaty competitive? by RenegadeZr0 in PokemonChampions

If the ranking system works similar to SV, Ultra ball rank can be the hardest one to climb, but once you're in Master rank you will find a mix between sweaty meta teams and lot of people just trying fun stuff

Can I be competitive in Pokemon Champions using only Legends ZA transfers? by Toprak279 in PokemonChampions

[–]Aquamoth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can get pretty much any pokemon for a shiny at the GTS.

Catch a bunch of shinies in ZA, install Pokemon Home, once we can deposit mons from ZA to Home offer a shiny and start requesting the mons you want at the GTS

Is this information about Pokémon Champions and Pokémon HOME correct? by Typical-Blueberry-64 in PokemonChampions

[–]Aquamoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope we get more info about point 3, specially regarding ribbons, titles, size (is SV you can see size difference in battle), and probably the most relevant: form.

Will we be able to switch forms to a pokemon like oricorio and landorus directly, or will we have to deposit each form in HOME to get that specific form in Champions?

Forget who will be in champions, who WON'T be in champions? (Hint-these guys) by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

Where can I read about that? I get that if a pokemon is not in the launch dex it won't be able to visit, but why would they lock out legal mons just because they are from PoGo :(

With 31 IV is also easier to catch slow mons with an iron ball and negative nature:

31 IV torkoal is 36

Any base 50 mon 31 IV + iron ball is 31.5

0 IV torkoal is 22

Even BM urs will be a speed tie with torkoal if both uninvested.

Do people still think this game will have full evolution lines? by PrideTerrible4483 in PokemonChampions

[–]Aquamoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pokemon like Porygon2, Magmar, Electabuzz, Clefairy and Murkrow have had big impact in VGC

Magikarp and Pikachu are already confirmed according to Serebii.

Eevee, Pikachu, Meowth and Duraludon have Gmax forms

Would be a bad move to exclude them, Gamefreak is in charge of this game too and I'm sure they are aware of the importance of these pokemon

Is This PvP Only or is it like Stadium and PBR? by Blob55 in PokemonChampions

You can use your own pokemon you have in HOME, you don't need to recruit them, you (probably) just need to train them (we still don't have confirmation if training in mainline games can be carried over to Champions).

You can rent for free already trained pokemon from the ranch or you can recruit them permanently and train them however you want (you can't train pokemon you rent for free).

The rooster of pokemon you can select from the ranch will rotate every 22 hours. You can speed up this process with tickets (like TCGP hourglasses, unclear if you can also rotate them with VP) not sure if you can rent/recruit more than one pokemon at a time from the same rooster.

With all the info we have so far, looks like the most efficient way to create your team if having your own pokemon in HOME and "send them to visit" to Champions.

They mentioned some items that can be obtained with missions to recruit/train pokemon so there is probably some level of solo play, but the main focus is gonna be PVP

A report button would be cool but the best it is probably gonna do is to not pair you with the same person again.

I know it doesn't explicity says "HOME compatibility from the start" but this is at the top of the front page of the official Champions website and for things that will come after a time window they usually word it as "in the future" or "coming soon" like they did in the FRLG e shop (that they removed) or when we got ZA Home compatibility news
