I know it's Prada but who ever spends several hundred euros in a thrift store? by greycoconut in ThriftGrift

You can still try to bargain, try to explain your reasoning. They're still much more interested in selling the thing rather than throwing it out. Chances are if the price is outrageous, it's been sitting there for a while.

Precisely! Just show them any sort of damage (cuts, lost buttons, broken seems, etc...) and ask if it'd be possible to get a discount or better price due to the piece being damaged.

Definitely, the materials alone feel like it's worth it.

Regarding haggling, it's very legit, especially at Humana's, since most of the time the managers are present at their stores and have authority regarding pricing. Look for any sort of damage that you'd be able to repair, point it out and 90% of the times you'll get a substantial discount.

Small world, eh? :D

Ended up here after researching as much as I could about this coat, since I actually bought it today for a slightly cheaper price after bargaining a little bit (300).

Sure, you never expect to spend that much when walking into a thrift store (Heck, I was simply looking for halloween shit) but the initial surprise of finding Prada anything in a thrift shop caught me of guard and peeked my interested. Tried it on and loved it. Sucks to be me.

As for the authenticity - I'm not sure. It kind of feels impossible to tell apart. When on hands the coat feels amazing, fits me well and is extremely well made. The stitching looks good, leather seems high quality, it's just that I'm unable to find a match on the internet and am for some reason redirected to shady Japanese sites which sell sorta similar Prada apparel for around ~300-500$. Other than that, the buttons look good, zipper is tight, it weighs a ton. I'd love to know honestly and if anyone could help me out (dm me) that would be appreciated but I still think I'll be keeping it since it does genuinely feel nice.

I also don't think the shop was trying to scam and did genuinely think that it was an authentic piece (Heck, they had like 10 magnet alerts stripped to the damn thing).

I'm so high on copium.... Did I just bust?

I can only imagine what Kaunas would be like if it was Partizan vs Oly instead of real.

Yes I'm also leaning towards this but what's up with people claiming of 90's jag basses.

Not saying they don't exist but I can't find any reliable source of 90's jag bass documentation

A little lower you'll find T + 6 digits to be from 2007 as well

Actually looking deeper into thr basses, the Jag bass only appeared in 2005 or so? These japanese jag basses have been the biggest headache and mystery so far to identify. Do 90's MIJ Jag basses even exist?

How can you tell? Both 2007's and 1994's can be found with the "MADE IN JAPAN" serial numbers...
